Good day. I am driving a vw fox 1987. The first gear keeps on jumping out. What seems to be the problem. What type of gearbox oil to be used and how many litres.

There is nothing you can do about it. The gearbox need to be opened up and the gear clusters inside must be serviced. To fill it up go to a spare part dealer who will know what type of oil is used for every type of vehicle. Crawl underneath your vehicle and look for a plug with a (usually) square head on the side of the gearbox. Turn it out and fill it up until the oil starts running out of the hole. Replace the plug.

How to top up gearbox oil on 1.9 d. Focus?

Auto should have a dip stick and tube manual either has a filler plug on the side or fills through the speedo drive housing.

Rear door will not open on my ford focus ghia t reg

Hi chance are the mechanism inside door jamming. Short of forcing off the inner panel in order to clean lubricate etc I find the best way to get this open is to get someone to keep activating your central locking open and shut while you simply keep trying the door handle at the same time and this can some times just catch the latch in just the right position to get the door open ( you dont need to forcefully be pulling on the handle as the latch will either simply click over on the fine spring latch mechanism or not force is not going to help).
Once and if you manage to get door open take off the inner door card panel and oil lubricate mechanism. rather than then shut door simply use a screw driver on latch to test and worth then working back and forth. If still jamming replace latch.

Oil warning light on dashboard car very sluggish it is a ford focus 05 reg with 51000 miles on the clock

DO NOT DRIVE until repaired/checked....Check your oil level, if ok have the vehicle checked possible oil pump failure or clogged oil ports. If your oil is low/empty have your vehicle checked for oil leaks!! Hopefully this helps!!

Vehicle Stall - Ford Focus X Reg

I will suggest some cheap areas to try first.
1.Wiring connections to your computer under the dash.
2.Check wiring to fuel pump.
3.Check black boxes under hood. They have relays and terminals may corrode.
4.Ignition switch, sometimes with heavy keychains the contacts can loosen.

Take it to Autozone or Oreillys for a free scan. When you say car cuts out, does anything work like lights, horn, radio? Please post symptoms and if anything has helped you.

Check engine light blinking

you need to reseal the sparkplug tubes. this requires removing the valve cover.the flashing check engine light means the converter is overheating due to unburned fuel going to the exhaust.

Ford focus keeps stalling

I suspect it is a problem with the evaporative emission system. Basically, it collects vapors from the fuel tank and stores them in a charcoal canister in the engine compartment. It thens purges them into the engine when the engine is warm and running at road speed. You may be dumping too much vapor because your canister is filling with fule as well as vapor.

Do you try to "nurse" teh tank full at the fuel station? If yes, you may be flooding the canister.
Try just filling it 3/4 each time & see if problem goes away.
