Exhaust leaking? Might just be bad catalytic converters or low quality fuel.Get it checked because winter is when people get monoxide poisoning more often. don-ohio

You need to check fuel pressure while starting it and at idle and while driving to see if its low or dips or surges indicating pump or filter or regulator issues.
I also recommend a new set of motor craft spark plugs be installed.
The smell is being caused by unburnt fuel overheating the catalytic converters.
After the above procedures check for any signs of vacuum leaks especially on the PCV tube from the valve cover to throittle body and do a fuel system service

The rich gas smell is probably due to injector problems. The rotten egg smell is sulphur in the fuel, which reacts to the catalytic converter. The rich smell would need to be fixed first by checking the injectors and the engine computer.
The smell is coming from the catalytic convertor. You have emissions problems. Try and have the codes brought up on the vehicle, that will narrow down the possibilities. Your Oxygen sensor could also be at fault. There is a product that will take the smell away, but it only masks the real problem.
does your car have AC.... ? ac problems can make a eggy smell also a damaged catalytic converter do the same. eggy smell can be the gas from the ac leaking out. you would need to have this check as it can do harm to your lungs..
The rotten egg smell if it is coming from the exhaust is a very good sign that you catalytic converter has failed or is failing. but a bad or battery that is being overcharged can also make a rotten egg like smell.
usually ,when using the egg discription it referred to as a rotten egg smell ,not burnt.. if this is the case you may have a catalytic converter that is in need of replacement..
Sounds like the catalytic converter has gone bad. What happens is you car as you drive will lose power, smell like rotten eggs and stall out. The reason is, the cat. is plugged up and cannot let the exhaust out of the tail pipe like it should. The exhaust is staying in the engine causing it to stall out and loose pwer.
