The1998 grand am theft system light is on the dash board and think it shut everything diwn and not getting a spark ether please help me and if you can send a video to help me thank you

    • 1 Place the transmission in park and turn the ignition to the "Off" position. Remove the key and apply the parking brake. Exit the vehicle with the keyless entry remote.
    • 2 Stand next to the driver's door and depress both the lock and unlock buttons at the same time. Hold these buttons for approximately 5 to 7 seconds until the horn honks one time and the lights also blink one time.
    • 3 Turn the ignition to the "On" position, but do not start the engine. Leave it in this position for 30 seconds, and then start the engine. The security system is now reset.

Crimestopper SP501 car alarm/remote starter will not respond. The 2 way one doesn't work, the sidekick does.

You need to program your crimestopper sp-501 key fobs, you need to program both the 2-way and the 1-way key fobs, during the same key fob program session. First find your valet button/switch, when you have found it, turn your ignition on and press the valet button four times, if you have a toggle type switch for a valet switch, toggle it up and down four times, when its in remote key fob program mode, it will honk your horn 4-times followed by 4-parking light flashes. Once your have done this press the lock button on the 2-way key fob, horn will honk and the 2-way will sing a little song to confirm programed, then press the lock button on the 1-way key fob the horn honk will be your confirm programed. turn ignition off this will exit you from program mode. then shut all doors and test key fobs for operation functions....hope this helps you out

I have a 98 Nissan altima gxe and my alarm won't honk when I lock the car but the lights go off when I lock it and Wen I take the alarm off no honk or lights go off Wat can I do

holdboth the lock and unlosk buttons on your remote simultaneously for about five seconds until the lights flash and horn chirps.that should do it.if not i believe these models used a separate horn for security system.possibly fuse for this horn is bad or the horn itself is bad.to see if this horn works lower drivers window.stand outside vehicle and lock doors with remote.wait about a minute and reach in window and MANUALLY unlock and open door(do not use power door lock button)this should cause the system to activate...horn should beep and headlamps should flash.if horn beeps try my first suggestion.if it doesnt beep and just the head lamps flash check fuses and horn for security system.

My horn used to honk when I locked my 1999 Jeep with the remote

If you have your owner's manual, there is a section that will tell you the exact sequence to press to enable/disable the horn bonk. It has three settings, chirp, honk, and off. The chirp is a really quick chirp of the horn. Honk is a longer honk. Off seems to be what you've set.

I hope this helps.

Jetta no longer makes beeping sound when locked.

try honking the horn normally with horn button <key must be on> if horn works it is in the programing for comfort and convieniance system if no honk it's just the horn or wiring to horn.
