Question about 2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport

1 Answer

Broken fan The fan on my car seems to be broken. When I turn it on, regardless of the setting, it won't blow at all. After a few minutes it'll start to work if I leave it at a low setting. Once it starts working, I can crank it up to high. As of today, it won't work at all. Help!

I'm having the same problem....except mine seems as if it may have died now. I can hear the air conditioner compressor still click on and off, but there's nothing blowing out.

Solution: when you start the fan and nothing happens simply reach under the glovebox on the passenger side dashboard and firmly bump the fan housing, starts up every time.

Still not working replaced passenger low headlight, and then a whistle blows turning on heater fan-what's up with this and what can I expect on fixing problem?

Sounds as if a Heater Resistor unit may have gone haywire . Normally situated under the passenger footwell area . Can be changed in about 10 minutes with little knowledge.
Some cars heater switches will work on the low only not on the higher settings. Check fuses as well as these may pop. You will see the wire may be Bent, Burnt or Broken in the fuse box.

My F250 fan diverter won,t work

The vacuum supply line to the climate control unit could be broken if it is gas engine. If ti is a diesel engine the vacuum motor or pump ,depending on the set up, is not working properly.

Heater doesn t blow out any heat or air

If it is not blowing at all your problem is with the fan. It is mounted up under the passenger side. Typically about 6 screws hold on the cover and the fan is right under it. Pretty easy fix. When the fan is out I would test it first....after thought here...did you check the fuses?

No heat or defrost in my 2000 mercury sable

If you are referring to the air won't blow through the defrost vents or on the floor, you may have a stuck or broken blend door actuator. This part diverts air through the different settings: defrost, vent, floor etc. If you aren't getting warm or hot air regardless of the settings, you may either be low on coolant or have a bad thermostat.

Mini Cooper 2002 overheated, fan fuse keeps blowing

The most common cause for the cooling fan fuse to blow is a bad cooling fan motor. The failng motor will draw an excessive amount of current which actually heats up the fuse and melts it. Now if your fuse is blowing the instant the cooling fan(s) turn on, then that could be a "dead short". either inside the cooling fan motor or in the wiring going to it. Follow and inspect the wiring leading to the cooling fan motor. Check for any broken, cracked or burnt wires. If you don't see any of that, then you'll probably need a new motor. If you think you can tackle the job, most auto parts stores sell generic replacement cooling fan motors much less than you would pay at the dealership.
WARNING! - some cooling fan motors are easy to get to, and others are very difficult. Study yours carefully and then decide if you want to tackle the job before you start tearing it apart.

It sounds like you blend door is broken. It is about an 8 hour job to tear the dash apart and replace the actuators that control blending of hot and cold air under your dash.

You have a faulty switch. Go to the salvage yard and buy a used one, pull off the trim panel and replace it. I just did one of these last week with the same symptoms.
