I have 2006 taurus and no manual or labels on fuses need to know what fuse is for radio

The fuse you want to check is the F1-17 fuse in the battery junction box. This is the radio fuse.
The number F1-17 fuse is the red/yellow power wire at the radio. If the fuse is good pull the radio and check the red/yellow wire for power in, if you have power in , then suspect a bad radio. My next step would be to remove the radio and check the power wire going into the radio (red/yellow) . If you have power there, then the radio is likely bad. Ford has had major problems with the radios.

Radio acts like there is no power

The radio, DVD and CD only function when the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACCESSORY positions .Your problem sounds like the radio and possibly the other affected devices are lacking power in the accessory position. This may be an issue with the ignition switch. These vans have a high failure rate of the ignition switch [not to be confused with the lock cylinder, where you insert the key] The power door locks should always have power. Check ALL the fuses both under the hood [next to the battery] and under the dashboard, if there is an additional fuse box there.

I have a 98 Sport, running bars rusted in three years, badly. My next question , has anyone lost their whole radio, CD player and dashboard light? Yet all checks out.

sport what?
what car, what truck, try to be specific.

Audio, sure, if all signs of life in the head end are dead.
the fuse is bad , cracked or loose. or battery is low.
check the voltage to the radio and bingo.
if dashboard too, then it is a POWER problem.
all cars have POWER distribution, the FSM covers this to the nth degree. ever seen and FSM>?

factory service manual.>?

rust happens on salted roads or near ocean, the salt kills all cars.
all car made with metal.
even SHIPS.
lots of the good ways to protect metal are illegal now.
also stone chips that hit parts, render all good methods, useless.
I do know one good primer but is dangerous to use. (need fresh air)
ask.

Power door locks do not work unless the ignition switch is on, radio and dome lights also do not work.

look for another fuse box in or under dash. still sounds like you have a blown fuse. look in owners manual for all fuse box locations, including underhood electrial center. good luck.

Radio has no power fuse okay

There may be two fuses in the 12V line to your radio; generally the 'accessory' fuse in the fuse box and a second one in the dedicated 12V line to the radio and this one will be under the dashboard.

Blown fuse, 2002 Suzuki Vitara

Hi,

Thanks for using FixYa!

If you are suspecting that the radio, car lighter fuse is busted. You need to check the fuse box under the dashboard. Check the fuse box diagram found on the cover of the fuse box under that dash. Check if you see "Lighter, Radio" Find the fuse and use the fuse puller to pull out the fuse.

You can find the fuse puller inside the fuse box. I hope this helps.

Have a nice day.
