What you probably have is a problem with the transmission control module. somehow the solenoids inside the transmission are not operating like they should because the module is not sending the the signal from the ecm. this is a good starting point. you could also try adding lucas to the trans because you could have a stuck solenoid. hope these are helpful options please rate...thanks

87 ford econoline won't shift out of first gear. We changed trans when the old one wouldn't shift past second.

hard to explain and harder to get a photo of. check the linkage rod from the trans to the carb (throttle body) should be connected there. very common problem for the **** plastic grommet to break apart

Hi, I have a 1999 Mercury Villager with the 3.3 Litre Nissan motor. Just recently my cousin replaced the timing belt, and distributor. When we got the van back it was having transmission problems. When you...

I would start by making sure the Trans Fluid level is correct. If the level is good, it sounds like your internal pressures are leaking down, and that is why it slips out of gear. Which means you have internal trans issue which would require the trans to be most likely removed and repaired.

Thanks Jay!

sounds like 3rd gear/clutch is worn.I don't think a service will do any good. But if you remove the pan and find debris you know you will need a trans in the near future.

My legancy 2000 automatic gear shifts at ruv 3400 rpm .is it normal?

depends on gas pedal position, the lighter you are accelerating the earlier the trans should shift,if it always hangs on in gear get it looked it can shift at redline (5000-6000 rpm,if you hold the gas peadl down fully).

2000 chrysler concorde will not get out of gear. trans doesn,t skip or slam it drives fine. you just can't move the shift lever

Change the shift cable (cable from shifter to transmission) Also spray some WD40 on the shift linkage on the trans and work it back and forth to loosen it up before you put the new cable on. Good luck

What is wrong??

I read your problem.
Here is some information about you problem.
2000 Chrysler cocorde. has a 42LE transmission.

The code P0700, Will set for an internal Trans. controler fault detected. "" For any fault detected on a trans. this is the first code to set. After come the other ones.
If it come alone, you will need to make some test to determinate
If the TCM ( Transmission controler module) is fault.

P0731- Will set if ratio of input RPM to output RPM does not
match current gear ratio.
one of the commom problem of this code is a Trans. slipping condition. or other trans. codes related.

If you can go to a Trans. specialist for a proper diagnostic and possibles solutions.

THank you I hope this information work for you.
