Trans in 2000 Concorde won't shift past second gear

It wil shift into first and second gear but the RPM's are between 3 and 4K when I go over 40-45mph. I did have the speed sensor and output sensors replaced with the same effect.

engine light on , automatic tranmission go to first gear then second then third , then when i come to a stop or below 1000 rpm the car will not shift out of first unlike i stop the car , shut the engine off completely and restart engine and drive agian. code read out said p07000 tranmission fault present.i remove the code twice but it engine light soon came back on.

this is a 1999 chryler intrepid with only 101,000 kms on it .

this car has never seen a winter.

would it be the tmc on tranny.

    email me frizzysplace@sympatico.ca thanks

What you probably have is a problem with the transmission control module. somehow the solenoids inside the transmission are not operating like they should because the module is not sending the the signal from the ecm. this is a good starting point. you could also try adding lucas to the trans because you could have a stuck solenoid. hope these are helpful options please rate...thanks

Po715 automatic transmission most of the time it don't want to go to the other gears stays in first gear

This is cause by three things. 1. Low fluid causing difficult shifting. 2. Bad electronics in the 1,2, shift circuit. Or the transmission is in limp mode. The transmission can go into limp mode for several reasons. Try removing the gas cap, sometimes the evap system will cause issues. Also get the car to normal operating temperature and check the trans fluid, add as necessary, do not overfill.

Saturn sc2 problem

DTC P0732 sets when 2nd clutch still slips after the PCM has commanded high main line pressure
DTC P0734 sets when 4th clutch still slips after the PCM has commanded high main line pressure.
DTC P0733 sets when 3rd clutch still slips after the PCM has commanded high main line pressure.
The powertrain control module (PCM) uses the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor, input speed sensor (ISS) and output speed sensor (OSS) to determine engine speed, input shaft speed and output shaft speed. These sensor readings are used to determine the current gear ratio and RPM slip across the torque converter. The PCM uses this information from the sensors to determine if the commanded gear matches the actual gear. During normal driving conditions, the PCM will adapt main line pressure via the pressure control (PC) solenoid to prevent slipping and harsh shifts. Shift solenoid 2 is used to apply or release second gear clutch. The PCM controls 2nd gear by controlling the ground for shift solenoid 2. The PCM will turn the solenoid Off (open the driver circuit) when second gear is commanded On to apply 2nd clutch. Shift solenoid 2 is supplied ignition voltage from the fuel pump relay whenever the PCM commands the fuel pump relay On.
Do you know how to test main line pressure ? Also , with the valve body off air check clutch packs . Do you know how to do that ? How many miles on the trany ?

I have a 1998 dodge Grand Caravan with codes P0700,P0734 & P0733. What does this mean?

P0700 is a informative transmission code, about some problem there; the P0733 and P0734 is the specific problem there.
I would first try changing the fluid and filter. Although the fluid may look like it is brand new, with 100K on the fluid, I can assure you that even if those miles were all highway at steady speed and no load that the fluid has deteriorated and no longer lubricating the internal parts properly and that there is some debris in the ******.If codes return and shifting problems are still present, there is definite internal failure, possibly the pump or in the clutches.
DTC P0733The powertrain control module (PCM) uses the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor, input speed sensor (ISS) and output speed sensor (OSS) to determine engine speed, input shaft speed and output shaft speed. Shift solenoid 3 is used to apply or release third gear clutch. The PCM controls 3rd gear by controlling the ground for shift solenoid 3. The PCM will turn the solenoid OFF, open the driver circuit, when 3rd gear is commanded On to apply 3rd clutch. Shift solenoid 3 is supplied ignition voltage from the fuel pump relay whenever the PCM commands the fuel pump relay ON. DTC P0733 sets when 3rd clutch still slips after the PCM has commanded high main line pressure.DTC Parameters
DTC P0733 will set if the PCM detects an incorrect actual 3rd gear ratio when 3rd gear is commanded On when:- The condition exists for longer than 3 seconds (2001)*- The condition exists for longer than 3 seconds, 1 minute is allowed to elapse, then condition exists again for longer than 3 seconds (2000)- The high main line pressure has been commanded- The transaxle is in a forward gear- The input speed is greater than 224 RPM- The vehicle speed is greater than 5 km/h (3 mph)- The speed noise parameter = NO- The steady state ratio fail counter equals 255 for an in-gear failure, or the shift fail counter is greater than 100 on a downshift or upshift to 3rd gear (128=0 or normal operation)DTC P0733 diagnostic runs continuously once the above conditions have been met.
DTC P0733 is a type A DTC for 2000, type B for 2001.**Applicable to vehicles built after June 2000.
Diagnostic AidsImportant: If DTCs P0745, P0746, P0756, P0758, P0761, P0763, P0766, P0768 or P0789 is set, diagnose that DTC first. A diagnosed PC solenoid, shift solenoid 2, 3 or 4 low/high circuit fault DTC may have caused DTC P0733 to set.Important: If a shift solenoid performance DTC P0783, 4th gear stuck ON, is set, diagnose that DTC first. A 4th gear stuck ON may cause no 3rd gear, no 2nd gear, or TCC stuck Off.
Refer to Pressure Ports - Air Check and Parts Description for pressure apply points and for component/location description.
Possible causes of no 3rd gear are listed in the flowchart on the succeeding page.
Verify TRANSMISSION ISS and TRANSMISSION OSS read correctly on Scan tool.
Make sure the pressure control, shift 2, shift 3 and shift 4 solenoids are not intermittently sticking. A sticking shift solenoid 4 may cause 4th gear to be applied from an initial start resulting in no 3rd gear. Audible sound should be similar for all solenoids. A muffled tone indicates the need for replacement.
Check this pinout HERE
P0734 refer at ratio 4 gear, and the rocedure is the same.
Hope helps.

Engine stalls, p0720 engine light on. Runs ok than goes sporadic.

There are 2 possibilities here:
1.- There may be a problem with the new speed sensor, the electrical wiring between the speed sensor and the PCM, or an internal PCM problem. To see if VSS signal is present at the PCM a scan tool capable of displaying live data is required.

2.- There is a recall action on this model year for erroneous speed sensor signals; the cure is an updated software calibration. If your truck has not yet had the updated calibration installed, you should call your local Dodge dealership with your VIN number and ask the service department to check to see if there are any open recall actions on your vehicle. If the software calibration has not been updated yet, they will perform this procedure free of charge for you. If you do not have the current software calibration in your PCM to correct the VSS issue, you need to have this done before proceeding any further with attempting to diagnose this problem

This sensor is located at the rear of the transmission.

Symptom: P-0720 LOW OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR RPM, ABOVE 15 MPH
When Monitored and Set Condition: P-0720 LOW OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR RPM, ABOVE 15 MPH

When Monitored: Continuously with the key on, engine running, and gear selector not in park or neutral.
Set Condition: This code is set if the vehicle speed (as determined from the vehicle speed sensor), is above 15 MPH, and the output shaft speed is below 60 RPM for 2.6 seconds.

POSSIBLE CAUSES DTC CODE RETURNS:
OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR DEFECTIVE
PARK/NEUTRAL SWITCH CODE PRESENT
OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN
OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
PCM DEFECTIVE (DRB SHOWS > 60 RPM)
OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR HARNESS OBSERVABLE DEFECT
OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR WIRING HARNESS INTERMITTENT DEFECTIVE

Hope helps.
