Question about 2000 Toyota Corolla

1 Answer

Interior mirror ok so the switch is broken on the mirror and i took the main mirror part off (it came off taking out a screw) but the arm is attached to the roof with no screw showing. i've got a toyota carolla and i'm not sure i can put a universal on cause the arm that is attached to the roof would be in the way. can i glue the universal to the arm (the upper part of it is flattened)? or should i bite the bullet and bring it to the dealer????

There is a plastic trim cover where the mirror is attached to the roof. Using a suitable flat tool (like a screwdriver), pry the trim cover off, this will expose the mounting screws.

How do you remove driver side door panel to replace broken interior door latch?

I just do them. Done to many. So this is generic. Look for plugs around the door handle, arm rest, and by the mirror. Pop them out, screws behind them. Screws can also be around the perimeter of the door panel. Also behind door reflectors. Once out lift up on the panel. If it doesn't go up, use a screw driver, start at the bottom and pop it off.

Remove rear interior view mirror

Ok, the rear view mirror is as follows. First you must remove the map lighting plastic around the area of the mirror.

1. Where the sunroof switch is, the surrounding plastic is like a door. Gently pull down that little door. It kinda looks like a V. It pulls down from the mirror side. Like I said it is hinged so don't pull to hard or it may break.

2. There are two little tabs inside that little cover. While gently pulling on the outside of the map light cover also will need to release those two tabs.

3. Once the cover is off, there are two locking tabs in the front of the black plastic part that holds the main lights. unlock these tabs, then undo the two 10mm head screws. This will drop that rest of that entire assembly.

4. The rear view mirror is then attached with a torx 40, need to undo this screw to removed the mirror from that assembly.

5. On the back of the mirror there is a cover, this covers the wires going into the mirror. Remove this cover.

6. There is a spring looking wire on the back that now needs to be removed. Once removed use a small screw driver and release the connector from the bottom of the mirror. The mirror now should be in your hand.

Note: These mirrors CAN NOT be replaced with used ones. They are programmed to the vehicle with the key fobs, for your vehicle. These mirrors are computers inside.

I hope this helps.

Install side mirrow

To replace your side mirror, disconnect the battery's negative cable. Take off the interior door panel. Unplug the wiring harness if you have power-controlled mirrors. Take out the mirror bolts with either a socket wrench or a nut driver. Separate the actual mirror from the mirror assembly. Use a torx driver to extract the screws, and then pry the plastic tabs on the backing until the two pieces separate. Attach the new mirror to the assembly by snapping it onto the backing with the tabs.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Installing replacement side mirror on 2007 Subaru Forester

yes... you'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you can access the bolts holding the mirror on and disconnect the wiring harness as well..

My drivers side window went all the way down, but now wont come back up. How do I solve that?

You'll need to remove your door panel (screws are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door) and pull back the weather seal (can't reuse the seal) in order to see the assembly. It sounds like either the support arm broke, or the gears are stripped

How do i replace a passenger side mirror on a 2001 ford focus

Interesting and fairly easy to do. I pried off the black plastic interior trim piece by simply pulling carefully on the end facing the windshield, then pulling at the back end. Came off fairly easily. Once off, I could see the wire connector. The mirror has a short wire which goes through the body of the car and connects to the wire connector which comes from inside the door. I did have to take out the two screws holding the front part of the door panel. This was to weave the wires back through because the go below the top of the door panel through the door body.
Once that was done I found the main screw through a barely big enough hole in the door and took that out.
Once that was off, all I had to do was take out one more screw that goes through the front metal body of the door into the mirror assembly.

It was just a process of weaving the wire back through the door, then I installed the front small screw next to hold the mirror in place, then I put in the big screw that really holds the mirror on, connected the wire back together and put the screws back into the door panel. Snap on the inside plastic piece and you're done.

It took me about 30 minutes or so and I had never done it before.

How do I replace broken 2002 buick century passenger side mirror?

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door
