95 Grand Cherokee power locks clicking

Doors are supposed to auto lock when vehicle put in gear. The entire time I'm driving the locks are opening and closing every several minutes. Any ideas what could be wrong with the power locks?

Is it possible this is an actuator problem? If so, how difficult is it to fix?

You may want to check the wiring harness in the door jam. Those comonly break the wires and cause issues with windows, door locks and other things. The harness boot can be pulled back to inspect. It is a little difficult to put back. If your locks usually lock when put into gear then that is not factory. Factory auto lock does that at 17 MPH

The locks on this vehicle are supposed to lock when you hit 17mph.
The PCM controls this.
If they are locking and unlocking, there's got to be a short somewhere.

Power windows don't work on all 4 doors and power lock doesn't work on the driver door. 2004 jeep grand cherokee

On the driver side, the window/door lock module has the power lead either pulling away from the connection or has broke entirely. Another common cause is the wire harness between the door jam, this is the area that has a rubber boot covering the wires and from opening and closing the door, it creates a broken or loose connection over time. Open the driver side door, grab the rubber boot that the wires run thru, and move it around. Some times this will help create the connection and restore the power. If not, the door panel will need to be removed to inspect the wire connections.

2007 dodge caravan door locks constantly unlocking when driving or parked but only happens intermitently.

Of course this is an electrical malfunction.

Can you please run a scan on this vehicle?

There are likelihood that the gear is loosing it's position. When the gear is set to P-Park the doors open and when set to D-Drive the doors automatically locks up.

Thank you.

All vehicles are equipt with that option as of now. I would leave that one alone for saftey reasons such as car jacking for one

Noisy power lock alert on 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee

It is a door lock actuator. Actuate the locks with both the driver and passenger switch and all doors open to determine by sound which one it is. The actuator is incorporated in the door latch assembly.

Door locks

There is a actuator that locks and unlocks the doors that may be bad on the door. At the same time I have seen a little lubrication help out if it is just moving slow.

As far as the back you could try the lubrication on it also but if the window rolls down and it is not that will not help, is the gate shut all the way is another thing to look at as it will not roll down if the gate is not shut all the way.

Automatic door locks wont work on my 2004 jeep grand cherokee

There is a broken wire in the rubber casing between the door and the vehicle. Take the rubber casing off and you will more than likely find a broken wire or one about to break. Been there and done that.

Grand Cherokee Ltd, '96 - serious electrics issue

Hello there. I am going to take a stab at this issue you have. First off make sure that the remotes have fresh batteries. You can take them to any autozone and have them checked to make sure they are working correctly as well. But start with new batteries in the remotes. As for the door locks working and not working might be a bigger pain in the bottom. My first option would be to have the ignition sensor tested. I would be will to bet it is bad. Its a little sensor that is supposed to detect when the ignition is on and the vehicle is put into drive to lock the doors. Its a built in answer to car jacking. But if the sensor is lose or malfuctioning then it can cause the system to go nuts. If that does not work then I am willing to bet you have a short somewhere in the vehicle security settings. I would try to find a way to bypass the chrysler sercurity system and see if that fixes your problems. I am willing to bet it will.

look up schematics for the auto lock system for your model.
get a highlighter.
trace the lines from the actual lock motor to the PCM (powertrain control module) note all objects you come into contact with when using the highlighter. the circuit should not be that complicated. if you are not familiar with circuits, find someone who is.
write them down.  the components.
take your findings to your nearest, knowledgeable, experienced technician and get him to test each component. you will find your problem.
the window problem, i would go right to the motor. it sounds like your are getting a short to ground somewhere in the motor, or near it. take the door panel off and look at the motor for anything abnormal.
