Question about 1995 Pontiac Bonneville

Dashboard Lights/ radio lights

Hi, I have a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville. Both the Parking lights and the interior dashboard lights are not working. The brake lights are still working as well as the dashboard cluster warning lights. I've checked the fuses and all of them are in working order. It seems strange that both the parking lights (not headlights) and the dashboard light bulbs would all go out at he same time. How are the systems connected and what should i check for? Any suggestions?

If you have the "twilight" sensor, while there is still a pontiac, call your local dealer and have them check your VIN against the recall list for your car for Headlight relay/twilight sensor. If it is not, then see if you can check out the the combination headlight switch. I had similar problems, switch shorted out (as in smoke coming out of dash and harness melting) Dealer claimed it was not part of recall, so I paid for the Dealer to fix it 3 times--last time I had Him disconnect the twilight sensor ring and shut it off, and havent had problem for 9 years. The switch design does not have enough clearance between paths, and possibly tied in with over currnt from the relay and a bit of dirt allows the switch to short out... last time dealer had to splice in a handfull of wires (Since a new harness is very expensive). Note: Am not a mechanic... this is just an educated guess.

DId you check all the fuses as the Dimmer to the dash lights and the park lights get power from the same curcuit .... also you can not always tell if a blade fuse in blown so check the fuses with a known good if you don't have a meter. remeber there is a fuse box under the hood too

Pontiac dash light goes out

Please follow the below mentioned instructions

1 Place your key into the ignition of the PT Cruiser.
2 Turn the key to the "ACC" or "On" position, and turn on either your headlights or parking lights.
3 Use the fingers of your left hand to rotate the center portion of the multifunction lever upward to make the dashboard lights brighter. As you rotate this portion of the lever upward, you will notice that the odometer and radio will light up. At the farthest setting, the interior lights will illuminate.

Probably inside your car underneath of dashboard or on the passenger side when you open the door on side of dashboard.

Light bulb/radio/lights equalizer - burnt out

You first must gain access to the bulbs. Then remove them. They should have a number on them allowing you to Google them and locate a source for new ones. Last, reinstall the new ones and then reinstall the radio/dashboard.
