Hello if your not use to front wheel drive it sometimes can be hard to locate dipstick your stick should be near the bottom of radiator looking down where your transmission meets the motor its a very short stick so look good usaully has a handle like a old candle holder type handle goodluck please rate

All trans to engine bolts are removed. engine mounts are free, engine still won't come out. I don't know what else could possibly be keeping it from seperating. Is it absolutely necessary to remove...

YES YOU MUST SEPERATE TO GET TO FLYWHEEL
THER IS TWO DOWEL PIN ONE PER SIDE TOWADS THE TOP OF THE TRANSMISION
PART OF ENGINE BLOCK THEY OFTEN BIT AND HOLD ON GOOD IF YOU ARE SURE THAT
ALL THE BOLTS OF THE TRANSMISION ARE UNDONE YOU SHOULD PUT THE ENGINE MOUNT BOLT BACK IN PUT JACK UNDER FRONT OF ENGINE HARMONIQUE PULLEY TO
STABILIZED MOTOR THEN WITH SECOND JACK AT REAR OF TRANSMISION JACK UP TO
START THE RELEASE THEN LOWER BACK DOWN TO RELASE TOP OF TRANSMISION
THEN WITH SUTIBLE PRY BAR BETWEEN ENGINE AND TRANS PRY APART UNTIL FREE
FIRST I WOULD UNBOLT TORQUE AND PUSH BACK IN TRANSMISION AND PUT A RETAINER TO PREVENT TORQUE FROM FALLING OUT OTHERWISE YOU WILL NEED TO CHANGE THE TORQUE PUMP INPUT SEAL IT WILL LEAK IF SEPERATED

I have a 2002 Passat wagon, with a1.8 l engine and a 5 speed automatic transmision. By mistake I drained the transmision. |How do do I refill the transmision so that I can take it to a shop to top it up...

Find the transmission filler tube under the hood. Get a funnel, and fill. Do not overfill, and use proper tranny fluid for your cars' specifications. Your user manual should have a capacities index, and the type of trans. fluid to use listed somewhere in the manual. Hope this helps.

How do i top up the transmition

the passat has no dip stick so no way to fill from there VW says transmision never needs fluid , however there is a plug on side of transmision [passanger side] that you can access fluid remove plug check level with finger should be at tip and add from there , very difficult.

TO CHECK TRANMISION OIL YOU NEED TO OPEN A PLUG AT THE LEFT AXEL AT THE TRANSMISION THE TOP PLUG TO VERIFIED LEVEL AND THE LOWER PLUG TO DRAIN TRANSMISION OIL.

Getting auto trany out

to pull the top transmision bolts you need about 3 feet of extentions so your ratchet is backat the tail stock of the transmision. or drop the trans mount and allow the trans to lowwer to the ground . you may want to remove the fan so it does not hit the radiator. as well as use a floor jack to lower the trans. good luck

Transmision

Sine I don't know the engine or the trans used in your car I will give you both locations of te filter.
If it is the external spin on filter it is near the top of the trans case, if it is the flat filter it is inside the trans pan.
