They sell a tool at the parts store to remove the lines, or you can do what i did just push in on both sides of the clip with your fingers and pull them off

2001 CHEVY MALIBU WONT TURN OVER, UNLESS YOU SPRAY STARTING FLUID ON IT, THEN IT STARTS FOR A FEW SECONDS. HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE LINES IF IT IS THE FUEL FILER TO REPLACE IT.

lots of notes in here about overheating cars, everyone wants to replace the thermostat thinking that will fix it, but it never does. likewise lots of folks thinking their fuel filter is blocked solid. it is so seldom the fuel filter. There is a filter on the fuel pump take up before it even gets to the filter so they just are not going to get totally blocked up unless the gas tank is corroding away on the inside. but your issue does seem to be a fuel supply issue. i would be thinking more about the fuel pump or pressure regulator than the filter. have someone check the fuel pressure at the injectors.

So I have a 2001 Chevy cavalier and I just hot it back from having the fuel pump replaced and now none of the gages work is there anything I can do to fix it

There is some sensors that they had to disconnect and other wires that they most likely removed to install fuel pump such as sensor that monitors fuel pump preside. Trace any and all line to the fuel pump to see if were hooked up, if so unplug and plug back in, possible not good connection. Let me know results. Thanks mike

I have a 2001 chevy silverado 4.3 5 speed truck it starts hard or long ive hooked a fuel gauge to it and it builds to 50 and drops right away i belive thats a check ball valve in the fuel pump...

I would look into a possible problem with the fuel pressure regulator. It is not part of the pump. Generally speaking a fuel pump is good till it dies , then it doesn't work at all.

Why does the gas guage not register how much gas is in the tank of our 2001 Chevy Impala?

This could be due to a faulty fuel sensor in the fuel tank try draining the fuel tank and replacing the sensor.

Process to change fuel pump on 2001 chevy silverado 1500

take the six bed bolt loose and then take three buddies slide the bed back put in the new pump slide it back n place and put the bed bolts back in. if u drop the tank u can easily break the hard plastis lines that go to the fuel tank. u only have to take the fill lines and taillight wires loose this way its alot quicker, and easier.
