Question about 2002 Nissan Xterra
I have an 02 Xterra S/C
I had this same problem a few months ago, had to have the truck towed twice before I could get it repaired. It was the fuel sending unit which needed replacement, and I have since read it is a common problem and perhaps a recall? I did not go that route as I needed it repaired immediately once the garage was open!

Check for a loose wire around the ignition. Also the ground wire from the engine to the body. The steering should not actually lock up, but will be very hard to turn when the engine stops. I assume it idles and starts fine?? But it shouldn't! Frankster016
