Check make sure the bulbs are making good contact, you can clean your contacts with and eraser, also check your grounds. If not replaced the bulbs.

Check brake light connectors for green residue if so spray with WD40 to clean. Also change bulbs even though they look ok they could still be knackered.

replace brake light switch @ BRAKE PEDAL, next, replace turnsignal flasher under dash, check for blown fuse, if turn sig. still doesn't work, check turnsig., switch, & or for loose connection.

My brake light fuse continues to blow out, the rest of the tail light, turnsignals, tail light, work fine, it is just the brake light.

There is a short in the brake light circuit, the 'live' wire is earthing somewhere, you will have to trace tht wire and rectify.

Brake lights ,tail lights wont work i have replaced fuses, bulbs

Check fuses, I believe that the WJ's (99-04) ran a separate circuit for bake lights. Not sure if they did same for the ZJ's (93-98)

tail light fuse and brake light fuse, and they are marked, if they are good then you have a bad light switch or a bad turnsignal switch assembly harness.

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee; taillights go out w/ brake press

Try checking one of 2 things, Check the fuses. I had a 94 cavalier do the same thing after i put a 30amp fuse in to a 25amp slot for the courtsy fuse. Also check the bulbs in the tail of the vehical to make sure they are the right ones. If this dose not do it get a test light & wire diagrham, you may have a bad short to ground some where in the brake light wires.

The tail lights are out, so the brake lights-Jeep Grand Cherokee

i have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee i had the same problem when i would apply my brakes when the headlights were on my brake lights would go out, i found that my bulbsocket was not making good contact with the socket housing, if you notice when you take off a bulb, look at the light fixture where you unscrewed your breaklight bulb you will notice 3 medal contacts-they should be silver in the socket housing and like a copper on the socket bulb, in the socket housing their should be 2 silver contacts together and 1 by itself the one that looks by itself is making bad contact with the copper one thats by itself on the bulb, what you can do for a quick fix is; get a small piece of low cage wire or a thin piece of metal like copper stick that in to the bottom or top of that metal contact--i did it through the bottom leave the wire or piece of medal sticking out enough for where it can get contact with the bulb (just a little wire is enough to make contact, now screw the bulb on and test it---it will work----i did it to mine, if you need more assistance let me know lmadrid82@yahoo.com
