Question about 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
Follow the drive belt. The starter is usually flush with the bottom of the engine, off to one side, (same side as battery).
It's about the size of a coffee can, but a few dozen pounds heavier. It'll have a "solenoid" attached or beside it - an electromagnet to engage it's gears - about the size of a toilet paper roll.
