Hi HarryB1509,

The first action to take is, have a scan carried out on your vehicle.....It may be that you have a computer controlled mal function..... The most likely cause will be with the electronically controlled throttle control.

Hi got BMW e91 06 plate rough on tickover grey smoke on startup while driving as you accelerate smoke appear plus knocking noise from engine. As you slow down knocking stops so does smoke

this could have several causes. I would check the crank case breather system, the oil separator, the vacuum lines and the return line to the dipstick where the oil from the separator drains back to the crank case.

I have this problem with my K Reg Audi 80 1.9 tdi...Driving along say 50mph in traffic, take foot from throttle due to traffic flow, put foot back on throttle and nothing happens unless you either let...

you car is fitted with a "no fuel"system,so when you take your foot off "no fuel" goes to the engine untill it reaches 1200 revs.then it will allow fuel to flow to keep tickover/smoothness.(its computer controlled)you need to get your car onto the diagnostic computer,(skoda/seat/vw/audi)so you have the codes/items that need to be sorted. The tdi engine was one of the first engines that VW computerised and it is very reliable/powerful,compared to the peugeot/citroen engine.(briefly, the fault is not just a switch/cable),

Problems accelerating

the engine tickover is too slow when the engine is cold its running on cold start, ie:choke,, after it warms up the engine slows down this is what is causing it to stall in gear,, get some one to hold the brakes hard on and with the engine running in gear ajust the tick over till its reving at 750 - 850 rpm the revs will go up a bit when its out of gear,, before you pick a gear to go into push the foot brake down to stop the car lurching,,,
