I cant get my car to crank but once in a blue moon.it also made a horible noise. took it to dealer and they replaced the springs on the ignition coils. this helped it crank easier about 2 or 3 times and then it still would only crank occasionally and was still vry noisy. found a trustworthy mechanic who did the diagnotic and it said i needed a new cam and crank shaft position sensor. upon review while tearing into the timing chain area, one of the tension arms had broken loose causing the timing to be off. this contributed to the cranking issue along with needing the new cam/crank sensors. the loose chain caused a "rut " to be dug into the timiing chain casing. needless to say.....AAAAAHHHH....we are still in the process of having all of this fixed, i will updat yall when it is all fixed as to how well it cranks.

It is likely the EGR Valve. If you are going to replace it, make sure that it is the exact valve for your car. Take the Vehicile ID number with you to get the exact Valve.Although they may look exactly the same, your car might not run with another EGR. they are caliberated to the engine and it has to be exact.

it could be the transmission but before looking in to that, one thing you can do,,check your spark plug or air cleaner clean them up then test it out.if it has no difference then your clutch is needed to be changed.

what kind of spark plugs did you put in it? NGK's not the cheap ones;check the plug ports for oil if oil is present, put new seals in them.try these and it should fix the problem.

When my Altima has been running a while (on frwy) At about 60 -65 MPH The car feels like it jumps. Or wants to switch gears. Then when i come to a stop, such as a red light The car sounds and feels as if...

Sounds like your car needs a tune-up, specifically, the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve, and/of the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve.

Components checked/replaced during a tune-up are:
air filter
motor oil
motor oil filter
breather filter
fuel filter(s)
fuel strainer
PCV valve
EGR valve
spark plugs
spark plug wires
ECM or distributor cap & rotor
cabin air filter
transmission oil filter
transmission oil
engine coolant
check all vacuum hoses and lines

ON 2002 ALTIMA 2.5 I FOUND OIL IN ONE TUBE WHERE SPARK PLUG IS WHAT SEAL ON VALVE COVER OR PLUG TOP SEAL WOULD CAUSE THIS...CAR DOES NOT LEAK OR BURN OIL AT ALL

I would try snugging down all the valve cover bolts before replacing anything. A valve cover gasket kit should have the grommets and gaskets necessary to repair this if you find no loose bolts.

I have a 97 nissan altima that has rough idle and stalls

If you cleaned the carb after you changed the plugs using a spray, the plugs will need to be cleaned again. The debris from the carb burns off on the plugs and can gum them up.

Tune up nissan altima 2.5L model 2002

All you really need is a good set of spark plugs, this car has coil packs so no plug wires distributor caps etc.....Just remove the coil packs and install your plugs and your done. Good luck.

Tune-up

That all depends on the mileage, first tune is 100,000 miles, the very least you will need is spark plugs, fuel filter and air filter, use factory spark plugs, many brands available but the factory plugs work best.
