Same here. Yesterday I cleaned off the inside of the rear window and checked the connection clips to the defrost window circuit and they seemed fine. Today I got up early to try it and the same results - NADA. Could really use some help hear as winter is right around the corner.

2 places problems happen.

- at drivers side kick panel connector with purple wire coming in and black wire coming out may be burnt. These 2 wires can just be soldered together.
- connector at the back of heater control purple wire pin grip is burnt, pin grip would have to be replaced.

Check the wires running to the back under the door treshold plastic, gm put a connector there that eventually corrodes with moisture and buggers up the real window defrost, thats what my problem was, replace the connector.
good luck

if you push on the rear defrost switch and it doesn`t light up then check the fuses with a test light. if the fuse is good then the defrost switch is likely bad.

i would imagine the fuse for it would be inside the car under the dash on drivers side. but also if you look at the rear window you should see the rear defrost wires soldered to the window sometimes one will break off and it might just need to be resoldered

i had a 2001 cirrus that did that i found that it was a vacum line for the defrost as for the rear window if the light is on in the buttonon the dash then you might want to see if the wire that goes to the defroster on the window are both hooked up

NO REAR WINDOW DEFROST

First thing to do is test these fuses with a tester light. Check the A/C cruise control fuse 10 amp (left side of dash in panel), heated mirror fuse 10 amp (right side of dash in panel), this is also where you will find the circuit breaker and relay for the rear defroster. Test the breaker for power in and out. Feel the relay to see if it clicks when you turn on the rear defrost

If you visually inspect the wires on the rear window do you see any breaks in the grid?

If so, read the following link:
