The wiper arm motor assembly has a micro switch that tells it where to stop the wiper arm, when the switch goes bad then it will not stop at the right spot or when it is supposed to. This usually needs the wiper assembly replaced to fix, have not heard of the switch being replaced or even available for purchase by itself.

I recently changed my wiper motor in my 2003 Hyandai Accent. Now the windshield wipers will not stop at the bottom. When I turn thw wipers on, it goes donw first then up then back and stops in the middle...

Remove the linkage from the wiper motor. Turn the wipers on then off. This will set the motor in the park position. Move the wipers by hand to there normal off position. Reinstall the linkage onto the wiper motor. The wipers should now park or stop in the correct position.

How do I reset the home position on the front windshield wipes of a 2002 Pontiac Montana. The bolt holding the transmission came loose and now the park position is out of sink when they are shut off.

remove the bolt and unhock the linkage, next turn on the wipers and then turn the wipers off, this will park the motor , you will then postion wipers in the park postion and put linkage on the motor, this will line the wipers up, good day.

Wipers not parking... they stay in the vertical position on the windshield when I turn the wiper switch off. This happened after I had replaced a dead battery. Any ideas? Thanks, Brian

There is a separate live wire to park the wipers, you may have dislodged it when you replaced the battery. This wire should be live, even though the wipers are switched off and it connects slightly apart from the normal feeds.

Wait until the wipers are not up? then place it in park position? Or turn the wipers off before you park?

Wipers willnot return to park position

I've fixed this problem before. You have to disconnect the wiper transmission from the wiper motor. Put wipers in off position, unbolt the plate on top of wiper, turn wipers on then off. In the off position see where the wiper transmission is position in relation to where the park position is, remove the top plate from wiper motor and position it so as to be able to reconnect the wiper transmission now in the proper place. Please keep me informed. thanks you

Wipers won't stop wiping.

Sounds like your intermittent wiper circuit is defective. Normally the intermittent feature is engaged by one of the functions on the multi-function switch (usually on the steering column). The circuit of the intermittent wiper periodically activates a relay that closes across the "Wiper On" switch. Your intermittent wiper circuit is likely defective and holding its relay closed (or the relay is stuck closed), thereby keeping the wipers on. Note: The wiper motor has an internal switch that opens when the wipers are in the park position and that is designerd to stop the wipers in the park position. When you turn on the wipers (or the intermittent relay is closed), the motor's internal switch is shunted such that the wiper does not stop at the park point of the cycle.

Wipers will not park on 93 ford crown victoria

Hmmmm... if you replaced the motor you must have cleaned the area housing the arm mechanism. I had the same problem and found the problem to be in the arm assembly box on the firewall. Under the hood, triangular shaped box with snap on top was full of dirt, leaves and pine needles... I removed all the **** & my wipers now park as they should!!

Wind shield wiper

Check to see if the stud that they sit on is not spinning . Make shure that they are tight. Start by parking your wipers. then loosten the wipers and put them back on where they should be parked and tighten them up this should fix the problem . If not you may need to buy new motor unfortunatel. I hope this helps. Don't forget to rate my answer. thanks.
