This vehicle has MAF or IAC sensors - not ?? MAF or IAT ??

Which do you need the wiring for?

um idk its for a g force chip, thought there would only be on plug?

  • Anonymous Sep 24, 2011

    one*

  • Anonymous Sep 24, 2011

Two wires plug into the AIT (Air Intake Temperature) sensor. From my experience to me this means they are adding a resistor of some type in line to fool the ECU into thinking the intake air is colder than actual. Is this really how you want gain more power, by tricking the ECU? This can lead to other (more costly problems) down the line. I advise to NOT install the "resistor bank" "chip"

  • Anonymous Sep 24, 2011

It fools the ECU into thinking the intake air temp is lower than it really is enriching the mixture. However, the O2 sensor will see this richer mixture and try to trim the fuel back too. This will result in poor combustion, and about 1/2 your normal gas mileage.

  • Anonymous Sep 24, 2011

Disadvantages? Messing up the emissions control is likely. The result will be non linear, since the mass flow sensor is non linear, so the % fuel added will vary with ambient temperature. This could make the mixture much richer in extreme temperatures, which is not very desirable. Some have a thermistor to compensate for ambient, but unless this is remotely mounted in clean fresh air, it is hardly going to be accurate.

If you're in a state that tests emissions to renew tabs - you may not pass with this altered air/fuel ratio

  • Anonymous Sep 24, 2011

no there is no emissions test here but wut problems can happen ? so wut there selling is a bunch of ****

  • Anonymous Sep 24, 2011

Yes - snake oil my friend.
A simple google search of the g force will show you what I am talking about.

  • Anonymous Sep 24, 2011

thank you for your help i maybe should have done more research

Thank you for taking the time and consideration to ask me for help with your problem. I'd like to help but I am a GM mainly Cadillac technician and I do not know anything about other automotive makes.

Where is iat sensor located on 2006 tpyota tacoma 4,ol ?

Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor and Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor are combined into a single assembly which is called Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. This MAF sensor is located on the air filter box near air filter hose, and is connected with a five wire connector. You cannot replace the IAT sensor alone. Instead a MAF sensor is replaced altogether.

The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is an integral part of the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Looks like this:

Where is the MAF Sensor and the IAT Sensor on my 99 dodge avenger, i cant seem to find these 2, if someone can kindly instruct me to find, i will be greatly appreciated

IAT is located beside the throttle. This engine does not have a mass air flow sensor the computer uses the inputs from the IAT, MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor and the RPM reading to determine what the air flow reading would be.

IAT sensor

I would stay away from the mass air , the iat on yours i believe is behind the front bumper , you will have to gets down on your knees or lay down and look into the openings on the bumper you will see a sensor mounted somewhere by its self not going to anything , chrysler usualy bolts them to core support in front of condensor. if you cant find it and cant google it. best way is go to dealer or like any parts store and have them print you out diagram
