I didnt think the 86 GTI had turbos...
unless someone put an aftermarket on it then it would be conected to the exhaust manifold

YES IT DOES HAVE 2 FUEL PUMPS ONE INTERNAL AND ONE EXTERNAL. YES THEY BOTH HAVE TO BE WORKING

Think i got a coil pack gone 2000 gti turbo how do i tell which one has gone?jon uk


you have to change it. as a pack that means all cylinders are attached if it were single it would be a single coil over the spark plug.location is to the right of the intake.might have to remove the secondary injection pump.

On my golf gti the turbo is squealing wen the boost kiks in and theres no power from the turbo what so ever, is it the bearings?


It could be the waste gate that controls the turbo boost. Check your lower inter-cooler tubing from the inter-cooler to the turbo just to double check and make sure it's all buttoned up. If it's the bearing, there would be lots of blue smoke from the tail pipe. Good luck and keep me posted.

trace the wiresback 2 to the fuel pump. checks for nics n the wire for shorting out. check the relay and fuse for corrosion . relay may be bad

Seller tells me its a GTi non turbo 2 litre petrol


a GTI has to have turbo and intercooler to be called a GTI.
So, all GTI's have turbo
