Follow the top radiator hose, to the housing on the engine. That's the thermostat, it is actually 2 housing bolted together. remove the 2 bolts, and pull up on the housing. Flip it over and check the gasket. If it's bad, it will leak coolant all over the injectors.

Fuel filter location on 96 chevy camaro z28

It should be on the drivers side of the car, mounted to the inside of the frame rail just behind the driver seat. It will be a "can" shaped metal cylinder with small pipes sticking out both ends, and will have a bracket mounted with a bolt to the frame. This is a fuel injected system which runs under high pressure, and you should wrap rags around your wrists before removing the lines. I also recommend relieving the pressure from the fuel line under the hood prior to removing the lines from the filter. There should be something that looks like a tire valve on the fuel rail / line. Use a small screwdriver to press in the valve center, holding a rag over the end so you don't get sprayed with the gas. Hold it down until the pressure releases - this will help you keep from getting gas in the face ( it BURNS !)
Hope this helps!!

Car ships replaced wires plugs o2 sencer sometimes acts like it is flooding run fine on open road.

If it acts like it is flooding while idling, but it runs fine on the road, it could be running too rich and flooding it out due to leaking injectors, bad fuel pressure regulator, or excessive fuel pressure.

I would start by replacing the Fuel Pressure Regulator since it doesn't cost as much as the injectors.
Check your fuel pressure using a Fuel Pressure Check Gauge to see if the fuel pressure regulator is maintaining the proper pressure.

Vacuum is attached to the Fuel Pressure Regulator to control system pressure. When the fuel pressure regulator is not functioning properly it causes the fuel pressure to be above normal operating pressure. This condition causes excess fuel to be injected causing a rich mixture that produces black smoke.

Hi i have a 2002 isuzu trooper when i start it from cold it smokes a lot the smoke is black, the car runs a bit lumpy for a bit and then the smoke clears and the car then runs fine, there seems to be no...

You didn't say whether it is gasoline or diesel, So I will guess it is a gasoline engine. It sounds as though the fuel injections system is leaking fuel into the manifold or combustion chambers while the car sit idle for a while. This would cause the black smoke on start up. After it burns off the extra fuel the smoke would clear up and the engine would run smoothly. The only way to find out if the injectors are leaking is to take it to a mechanic. If the car runs ok, it would not hurt to drive it like it is until such time you could have it repaired.

What do i need to know before changing the fuel filter

Fuel Injected Engines

The fuel filters on injected engines are a metal cylinder which is located in the rear frame rail or in the engine compartment. You may find it under the injection manifold on some models. Each model varies.

  1. Unbolt the retaining screws and remove the protective shield from the fuel filter.
  2. Place a pan under the delivery pipe to catch the dripping fuel and SLOWLY loosen the union bolt to bleed off the fuel pressure. The fuel system is under pressure. Release pressure slowly and contain spillage.

My 1995 S500 Mercedes Benz is idling very rough. It runs great while driving but idles very rough. I have changed the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap,had fuel injector cleaned by a pressurized...

before you spend any more money on your vehicle run a cylinder compression test. I know it seems unlikley with less than 100,000 miles but 119 engines do like to burn valves. the LH fuel injection system was only used from 93-95. LH is a germen abreviation for hot wire mass airflow. The later systems use a hot film. Your vehicle has electronic fuel injection so why did you have the fuel injecters pressure cleaned. unless you have the cis system which means your car is not a 95. Motor mounts are also a very common failure on that vehicle. In any event rule out the worst case and perform a compression test because it really sucks to spend alot on an engine and find out it needs a valve job. I'm assuming that the check engine light is not on. although wireharness issues are another common issue. these early C.A.N. cars are very difficult to troubleshoot electronically and the information provided by the factory is difficult to follow.

1990 isuzu trooper will not start in cold weather

Well, could be many things, but first and easiest, check the dist. cap and rotor, and all the plug connections. Any moisture will freeze and short out the ignition system. Also change the fuel filter. If you get the slightest moisture in the fuel it will lock up the filter when the water freezes. Could be a relay, probably "engine relay" that sticks when it gets too cold.

Some starting points I hope.
