Yes both of my windows will not function, my interior lights will not light, my power locks will not lock, and my gas gauge is also wacky on my 1999 Beetle. I checked the fuses and all are good, not sure what caused the problem as everything was fine one day and a mess the next. My gf had washed the car the night before it all happened...but i truly doubt she was the cause.

    Any info would be grateful,

I purchased a used 2000 beetle over a year ago and everything worked great up until 6 months ago. The driver side window stopped working as well as the mirror adjustment nob, the control on the driver side for the passenger window and the automatic lock on the driver side when using the remote does not lock the door, this I have to do manually. This seemed to stop working after I accidentally locked my only key inside the vehicle and got AAA to get the car opened.

I checked all fuses in the fuse box, under the hood and under the dash above the clutch pedal and none were blown. I did get in to the driver door and disconnected the wiring connector to the window motor (as this part also has a built in fuse) watied for 20 seconds and reattached it, this did get the window working only for only about 1 min. then it would stop working, still the other controls that stopped working would not work even when I did manage to get the window working for that minute. I suspect I have a short in the window motor and its causing the fuse to overheat but haven't gone to the pick-n-pull to buy a replacement motor. Anyone have suggetions as to fixing the controls on the driver side door? Which fuse and where?

After some research I have come across this suggestion to get the window relay attached to the motor to work. I will try this.

http://www.myvwlemon.com/ubb/Forum6/HTML/000029.html

Also came across another blog where someone actually had posted a letter from VW in 2002 stating that the motor was faulty and that they extened the warranty for that for 7 more years. I have sent an email to VW customer support and waiting to hear back.

Well, tried the solution to clean the contacts as suggested in the vwlemmon site and that did not work. I did hear back from VW about the warranty and yes, they did extend it 7 years from the actual date the vehicle was purchased so I'm out of luck there. As cheaper alternatives, Cardone rebuilds these parts and they sell through Autozone, Checker Auto and Rock Auto.com. Problem is, no one has returned the core "motor" after buying the part and they have none left. Guess I have to shell out $318 for the part at the local dealer. I am sending the core to Cardone for free for them to fix it and resell it if they like. I am doing so to get some competition going on VW to get this part cost down.

2003 gmc envoy Windows fuse

Are all windows not working ? Two separate circuit breakers left & right . Both in rear fuse box . Fuse Block - Rear Beneath the left rear seat
Check for broken wires inside the rubber boot from body to doors.
Do you know about electronic control modules ?
The power window system consists of the following components:
?€¢
Driver door module (DDM)

?€¢
Passenger door module (PDM)

?€¢
Body control module (BCM)

?€¢
LR power window switch

?€¢
RR power window switch

?€¢
Window up and window down relays in each of the rear passenger window switches

?€¢
Window lockout switch

?€¢
Reversible power window motors in each of the doors (circuit breaker protected)

?€¢
LT DOOR CB 25A (System power for left rear window)

?€¢
RT DOOR CB 25A (System power for right rear window)

The power window system will operate anytime the retained accessory power (RAP) system is active or when the ignition switch is in the ACCY or ON position.
The DDM contains 4 power window switches which are integral components. Closing any of the normally open, rocker type switches provides the DDM with a request for power window operation. The switches for the 2 front windows have 3 positions Up, Down and Express Down, while the switches for the rear windows have only 2 positions, Up and Down. Each of these switches and their positions is a direct input into the DDM. Upon receiving a request for power window operation, the DDM, transmits a class 2 message indicating the switch and it's changed position.
The PDM contains a single power window switch that is an integral component. Closing of this normally open, rocker switch provides the PDM with a request for the front passenger power window operation. The switch for the front passenger window has 2 positions Up and Down. Each of these switch positions is a direct input to the PDM.
The 2 rear passenger doors have there own switches. Each of the switches contain a power window up and down relay. A switch activation alone can control the up and down functions of the rear windows. However the BCM, upon receiving a class 2 message from the DDM, can control the set of relays which will activate the rear window motors.

Tried it today and none of the windows work from master switch on drivers side except ft passenger window, which went down but will not go back up.

You can't put up the front passenger window with it's own switch ? Did you check the POWER WINDOW RELAY in the instrument panel fuse / relay box ? An you checked POWER fuse 30amp same fuse box ? All window switches have direct power from power window relay !

I am working on a 97 f150. My power windows, and speedometer quit working.I pulled the #15 5 amp fuse, but it seems fine. When I replaced it the window rolls down, then I can only roll it up.

There should be a 50amp fuse or circuit breaker for the windows, but that would not cause the window to go one direction only.
I would check the master switch in the driver door for power and ground first.

2002 thunderbird window won't go up or down replace swith still wont work fuse are ok does the switch get power

The master switch connector does have circuits that have power on them. The Master switch is not directly connected to the window motors. The switch sends a signal to the Front Electronic Module and the module controls operation of the motor on the driver side. The passenger door window motor is controlled by a different module

98 ford taurus flooded... power locks, windows, seat won't work now

I would expect to find a main wiring connector has some serious corrosion in it.
The fuses for those circuits would be in the fuse box in the engine compartment.
You could try running power direct to the driver's door switch to make the windows come down. Make sure you have a fuse or breaker in the line.

2004 power windows need fuse number on fuse cover

Bob,
There is a rectangular 30 amp circuit breaker, located in the Central Junction [fuse & relay] box. If any of the power windows work, that is not the problem. Best to remove the affected power window switch and check for both power & ground going into the switch. The switch controls both power & ground to the motor. Basically, it sends power and ground to the motor, switching them between the 2 output wires, depending on if you want the window to go up or down. If switch works normally, check for power at the motor connector. If power and ground are found at the motor connector in both directions, change the motor.

Driver's side power window won't work in '96 honda accord. stuck in the down position.

Its most likely a faulty power window motor. They all have individual circuit breakers inside the motor or switch, they aren't on a fuse. They quite often fail in either full up or full down positions, but can stop anywhere. Remove the door panel and locate the 2 wire connector coming from the motor. If you have a test light jumper across both wires (on the vehicle side of connector), while using the switch. It should light up in both directions (bi-directional motor). If the test light only lights in one direction or neither, it is most likely a bad window switch. To verify, jumper 12Volts to one side of the window motor connection and ground the other. The window should move in one direction, revrse the 2 wires the window moves in opposite direction then the motor is good.

The electric rear sliding window does not work. Where is the fuse located? 2005 Ford F 150 Lariat Crew cab.

If the power windows still work, it is not a fuse issue, they share the same fuse ( F401 form the accessory delay relay )

Either the switch or the motor is the cause.

When you press the button to the close direction ( with the window closed ) do the lights dim ( headlamp / interior lamps ) ?
If they do, the window is getting power in that direction, so it could be the switch for the open direction or the motor, or something in the track.

If you pull down the overhead console ( the non rail one is open the sun glass compartment, and pull down on each rear corner, it is held up with spring clips ) the wires to the slider are Red w/ yellow stripe and yellow w/ light blue stripe.
If you apply power to these wires, one direction is open, the reverse is close. Test direct to the wires to know if the slider motor is the issue or the switch.

Check the entire track for obstructions

To get the slider motor, you need to remove the rear seat back

Windows do not go up and down, we think is a fuse

It could be, the power windows are on one fuse circuit, however it could be the power motor which is located directly under the power window button on the power window control panel. This is usually located on the inside of the door.

My driver's side power window does not work. When

he window is controlled by four main parts; the window motor, the window regulator, the part that holds the window and the control switch. When you move the switch one way or the other, an electrical current is sent to the window motor forcing the window to go up or down depending on the direction of the switch. Most window control systems are powered by a thermo fuse. A thermo fuse will cut power to the window circuit if too much electrical draw is being used. This serves as a safety device and helps keep the wiring from overloading due to over usage. Always wear protective safety goggles and gloves before work begins. (Warning: some electric window regulators are equipped with a helper spring that can have tension, use caution when disassembling)
