Where is the inertia switch located on a 2000 hyundai elantra. the electric fuel pump is not working so i thought the inertia switch might be the problem but have no manuel and dont know where to look. help

A 2006 Hyundai Elantra is not equipped with an inertia switch other than the one inside of the SRS module for the airbag system.

The ony manufacture that uses a inertia switch for the fuel pump is ford.

Generally speaking, only Ford products have a safety switch or inertia switch for the fuel system. This includes some Mazda models.
I would start with the basics and check for power to the coil and the fuel pump relay.

Hello Jeanette: My name is Roger and I will help you. Your car does not have an inertia switch that can be reset. Check the fuses and also make sure the fuel pump relay works.The relay is located in the passenger compartment relay box. Should say relay box on the cover. If all are in working order you will need to test the fuel pump itself.You do not need to remove the fuel tank to do this. Remove the rear seat lower cousion from the car. Remove the inspection cover to gain access to the pump. Unplug the harness and check for voltage when the key is turned on. well if she ran it to long with no oil it might be locked up and might be able to turn it over if its not to bad. but you should still get power going to your fuel pump i would check all connection going to fuel pump and no broken wires. try even un plugging battery to see if there's a bypass

YES IT WOULD THE PROPER TERM IS FUEL INERTIA SWITCH USUALLY LOCATED ON EITHER KICK PANEL

check this spot. fuel pump relay is under the bonnet in the fuse box. it should tell you watch one it is

Most cars have a fuel pump cut off that is triggered by inertia, such as an accident.
