Question about 2002 Nissan Xterra
How do you change the gear shift knob on a 2002 Xterra? I have a cool skull head that lights up but can't figure out how to get the factory knob off the gear stick.
The shifter knobs on these vehicles is installed very very tightly.
I have never been able to remove one without ruining it by tearing the cover, which should not be a big issue since you're replacing it.
The knob threads on like a nut would (lefty-loosy, righty-tighty). I use a large set of channel-lock pliers and they are still tough to break loose.
Good luck and I hope that this is helpful!
