New battery should have over +12 VDC [measured]. Given the fact that you did NOT reverse the red to positive and black to negative terminals of your battery, I'd say trying wiggling the wires going to your starter.
This is general knowledge to your general question. Had you been able to tell me why the battery had to be replaced, what was it doing beforehand, additional details of this that and lalalalala... then I could have given you a greater, more pin-point solution.
