Dear Sir/madam,
Has to be drilled out. There used to be a picture of exactly the place to drill with a 1/2" bit and work a flat head counter-clockwise to release the latch.
thanks
good luck
Hi luccipavs,
Your problem would NOT seem to be related to the keyless entry, but instead, to the motor which activates and deactivated the lock on the drivers door.....I suggest that the motor or solenoid has become partly fowled and has failed to function.... To repair this problem, you'll need to remove the door panel, the window and it's mechanism and then the door catch, release and handle....You will be then able to remove the central locking device....
You will probably find it easier to replace the unit, instead of trying to repair it.....You're best bet would to be a new replacement, but if you find any difficulty in finding it, you might look for one from a breakers yard....
If you require more help in tackling the job let me know and I'll give you step by step details
Best regards

The door lock actuator is basically an electro-magnet that pulls the door lock down when electrical current flows in one direction and pushes the lock linkage up when the current flow is reversed. When the magnetic fields start to break down because of higher resistance in the windings inside the actuator the door lock actuator starts to "grunt" as it works to lock the door.typically this condition only happens in one door so you should be able to isolate it to one door by sitting inside the car and using the remote to lock the door then listening for what door is groaning. The lock actuator will eventually fail. When it does, the front doors will still lock with the key but if it is a rear door lock that has the problem the door won't lock or unlock with the key or the remote. That means that if the problem is in a rear door and that door lock is open you will only 'lock' three doors when you press the remote or use the key. If you have an alarm on the car the alarm won't arm if one door lock is unlocked. If you want the security of knowing all doors are locked and that alarm activated you'll have to change the bad actuator when it fails entirely. hope that answers your question.
for any further queries feel free to ask.
thanks

Yeah its a series connection of all door wiring circuit..First thing would be to check that there is power actually getting to the switch and then that there is power getting to the actuator...it is built into the latch so the only way to replace it is to change the door latch

Replacing the door lock
by Steven Lakey
Like many other
things, the driver side door lock
gets about way more use and abuse than the passenger side. You can replace
these parts… but it can be expensive, so it only makes sense to ration parts
from the one side of the car to the other. Here’s what you do.
First remove the arm
rest, speaker cover, and utimatly…. the door panel.
Remove the door handle.
Use pliers to pop
out the plastic clip.
Then “twist” this
clip off. The interior door handle is now free to move out of the way.
You should be here.
Disconnect this rod
from the lock core.
Remove this bolt.
And
this one.
Use some paint to
mark the position of this rod.
Then pop open the
clip and disconnect the rod.
Remove the door handle
assembly and the snap ring shown here.
Move this clip out
of the groves to release the lock core.
Now simply switch
the cores and reassemble. The results are great.

First thing is to try passenger door (that still has key lock for '03,
doesn't it?) Or the rear hatch. I'll bet it won't work there, either,
unless battery is disconnected. My guess is that the remote locking is
staying at "lock" - which is why it works with battery disconnected.
I haven't heard of anything just like your problem, but there have been
many who have to replace the RKEM (Remote Keyless Entry Module) - it's
behind the radio. Usually the doors start to lock & unlock by
themselves.

Thanks, I'll try replacing the RKEM and see if that's the problem. Obviously I'll have to remove the radio, but do you happen to know how much of the dash I might have to dismantle?
driver door not locking with auto lock keyless entry
My odyssey does not have a remote entry, can I buy a remote and programme it to the van.
