Question about 1998 Volvo V70
Hi. The battery had died on my Volvo and, of course, the radio would not work afterwards. A Volvo dealership could not get the radio serial number off the radio as it was a reconditioned unit and the number had been crossed out [for what reason I don't know]. However they took the VIN number and got a code number for me. I waited the necessary 2 hours for the CODE to come back on the radio [it had been reading OFF], punched in the 4 digits - did not work, punched them in 2x again and the radio says OFF once again. Any ideas or suggestions as to how I can obtain the correct CODE to use the radio again?????? I bought the car used and did not know, nor did the dealer, that it was a reconditioned radio with the necessary information on the radio whited out. I'm not sure what to do now. Thanks:) i have a 1998 volvo v70 station wagon bought used my battery need to be replaced. and of course radio won't work,my radio says off. i tried to leave car on half way for 2 hrs and my battery died so i may have done something wrong. still nothing will come up with code i did get the code from volvo dealer but i can't even put code in too see if it works. please help if any suggestions.
