Question about 1999 Ford Taurus
Never changed a pump in a Ford.. the issue is that we cannot seem to get the pump out to get the pulley off to replace the pump. There is a blind stud that goes through the alternator bracket into the wall of the head, there is no room to pull it off that stud to get it out. What can we do about that blind stud?? How do we remove it??
Neighbor had same problem last night. Went the pulley method, but was very difficult. Easier solution is to remove the radiator fluid reservoir, double nut the threaded stud, then turn the inner nut counterclockwise, Out comes the stud. Three bolts hold the bracket on. We took the tensioner off to get at the bottom right one. Good luck

I just did it on a 99 sable w/ dual overhead cam.... You need to pull the pulley off first and expose three 10mm mounting bolts. I had a heck of a time getting the return line loose. I think it was a 18mm line wrench,
