The dealer didn't want to fix it so he fobbed you off
overheating could be low oil or over full and as it is a Ford product , probably has a sealed transmission so with the light on you take it seriously
I suggest that you take it to an accredited professional auto transmission shop and have it properly diagnosed
if it is a sensor , that will be a lot cheaper than a transmission

Cheap try is new radiator cap. If it cant pressurize the system the boil temp lowers considerably. If put new cap on and still over heat could have bad head gasket or a blockage in radiator...Cap is common and 10.00 to fix....

There is a hose on the side of the coolant resevoir that has a straight blade screwdriver fitting in it. Open the fitting and this will bleed the heads on the LS. Without opening this you will never get the air out of the head, trust me.

Couple of items you need to check. Make sure that your radiator is flowing properly. Often after sitting dry, blockages harden up and flow less than before, overheat originally before repair can also free up debris inside engine and add to plugging of core. Make sure that fans are operating especially with ac on. If you did not change thermostat during repair, change it. Not often but they can sometimes partially open, restricting flow. Also make sure that coolant is at correct concentration (50/50) and that there is no air trapped in the system.

Transmission shifts hard, at times hard to get into gear

if it is a manual transmission then broken mounts are always a good place to start looking
next is a clutch problem nor disengaging properly--again a mount problem
if it is an auto the the mount is immaterial as it will be a selector sensor problem

LINCOLN LS 2000 O2 SENSOR

vibration is not likely to be an O2 sensor

rarely will I ever see an failed O2 cause anything but bad gas milage and a check engine light

More likely would be bad spark plugs/wires and/or maintenance items like a fuel filter

Lincoln ls engine swap with crown victoria

It should be doable, if the engine size is compatible to the Transmission mount. You may need to change the Engine mounts location. As far as if it is a good idea or not only you can as the owner can decide that.

I have an 2000 lincoln ls my speedometer wasn't working and I was told it was a transmission problem. I replaced the transmission and it still doesn't work

No one would replace a transmission for a speedometer issue. Who do you have troubleshooting your vehicle. Even a dealer with a bad rep wouldn't be that incompetent. There is a speed sensor on the tail housing, driver side,up against the floor pan. If it tested bad,you may be able to remove the crossmember and lower trans enough to change it. Someone needs to follow a diagnostic tree, for your veh,to find the problem. Any professional knows that. I have a 2004 LS and all the manuals. $700.00 worth. I believe no one wants to work on it and I know why. It is Fords most complex veh.

I HAVE A 2000 LINCOLN LS. IT IS MISSING BAD AT AN

What you do, is get to a shop,NOT THE DEALER, that has a professional scanner and oscilloscope. Not a code reader. Now you know that codes alone DO NOT tell you what's wrong and never what to replace. I have a 2004. This is Fords most complex vehicle ever. Sort of a test bed for them and a nightmare for us. You will need to find the best driveability tech you can find to work on it. It won't be cheap, nor a quick fix

Is there a filter in lincoln LS 2000 automatic transmission? I had transmission service - drain and fill - done at local Lincoln dealer and service manager told me there is a non serviceable filter in the...

Ford has been using a brass screen filter for a long time. It's not non-servicible but is easily removed and washed off which is likely what they did. Generally if the filter becomes plugged up it is from debris caused by a failure, at which time a rebuild is necessary and filter change would not cure anything
Hope this helps!.

2000 Bravada ABS and check engine light are on can only get reverse and 2nd

Try a vehicle speed sensor (mounted on the transmission), this sensor (or in 1% of cases its wiring) might be bad. This would cause your problem.

If this does not fix the problem, you probably effectively need a new transmission or a transmission rebuild.
