Be very careful with this. I had a car that had the dash oil light flicker on and off then would come on for a few mins and go then stayed on. I assumed it was a dodgy connection. Turned out the oil pump was on the way out and cos I was still using it ended up snapping the crank shaft and made s#!t of the engine. Replacement engine was then put in.
Could be something small or something huge!!!

Even though my truck is not overheating, the temperature gauge will shoot up to hot and the oil light will come on. After a few minutes, the truck will not let me accelerate anymore. If I shut the truck off, it will reset the oil light and the temp gauge and run fine for a while. But eventually, it will do the same thing again. Is it a sensor or computer problem

My 95 firebird with the 3.4 v6 motor, out of the blue, started running hot today and hit 250 on the dash.. i hotwired the fan cause it wasnt comming on even when the temp 210,thats why i done that,, and...

you might want to check the fan relay switch it out with one that you dont need tho run the car then if the car stays cool you know that its the relay. but if that doesnt solve your problem try replaceing the temp sending unit that controls the fan there should be to temp sending unit one for the guage and oe for the fan.help this help.

My temp gauge is going to the red , I turn my heater on and it does go down somewhat . Motor doesn't really seam that hot but might be . Thanks

It sounds like the cooling fan is not working, with the motor off look in front of the motor and there is a fan or 2, check the wiring and plugs, some times they corrode and can be cleaned with alloy wheel cleaner then water then spray oil in them otherwise the fuses and the thermo switch need checking.

97 saturn sl2 temp light flashing and low coolant light flashing what could be the problem ? coolant is full and the heat works.

If the temp gauge is reading normal, the lights are flashing, and the coolant level is full, the level sensor in the coolant bottle is the problem. I'm a service consultant for a Saturn dealer and I've run across this many times.

VW Passat 2002 oil light staying even after topping up

Is the motor knocking? Does the light go out when some RPM's are added? If the motor is knocking, you have a big problem with the motor. If not, you may just have a bad oil sending unit/wiring.

Faulty temp switch. replace and try. This component is prone to failure and is not expensive to replace.

Do I need to burp this system 97 jetta

well bleeding the air out of the coolant system is pretty easy to do at home and will cost you very little to nothing. You can do it 2 ways and it should work either way. first of all you have to make sure that your radiator cap is higher than the point where your upper radiator hose goes into your engine. If it's not follow you upper radiator hose to where it goes into the engine and there should be a little bleed valve there it's prolly a 10mm bolt looking thingy. open the radiator cap or crack open the bleed valve, start your engine and let the coolant travel around for awhile to work all the air out. just keep an eye on the engine temp. let it run for about 10 minutes or so and close it up and see if that helped any.

97 Diesel Jetta OIL LIGHT sensors mistake (Require?)Burping of a coolant system?

Most probably an air pocket in ur coolant system, just let it run without the cap on the coolant bowl until no bubbles come out.
As for ur oil light and buzzing, it's most probably the low oil level sensors tripping out, which is normal for a VW.

There are two oil sensors, one on the front of the engine near the distributor and one on the right hand side of motor when ur facing the motor. The are both the same size and have only 1 wire on em.

If i remember one has a white connector and one has a black connector. Costs about 20 bucks for the pair.

Good luck and get back to me if u have questions.
