Battery died replaced battery but now the radio will not turn on a 2005 Ford Focus AM/FM radio with cd player. the fuse has not been blown, if I have to replace the radio does it need to be with a ford...

Quick and free fix sir or maam. The radio locks up when the battery is removed on today's cars.I don't know who decided to start it but it is somewhat stupid...I think anyhow. All you have to do is call a Ford dealer and they will give you the code and method to unlock your stereo.Write it down because your battery may get disconnected for many other reasons than a dead battery when repaired.I am pretty sure they just need the VIN.You can put aftermarket stereos in too if you ever want to.Good luck! When they worked on your car they disconnected the battery. Now your stereo is in lock/anti-theft mode. Your Ford dealer can unlock. Explain the situation to them. (and build a reputation with them, even if it means taking it to them for oil changes.)

My 2006 ford focus zx4 does not want to start. yesterday my daughter stuck a cd and got it stuck, we took it out but the cd player kept making noise and the car wouldn't crank so I took the fuse out and...

sounds like a dead battery. Does it run while it is hooked to jumper cables and then die when they are disconnected? If so then you could have a dead alternator as well. The battery is primarily used to start the vehicle and then run all the electrical options. The alternators job is to recharge the battery and run the engine.

If this radio was installed when new, go to a Ford main dealer - they can provide you with the code.
