Have you changed the distributor cap

Your code is a PO785 is a SHIFT TIMING SOLENOID BANK A wich is a transmission code nothing to do with your smog failure so go to your local auto store and buy this product it's called guaranteed to pass this will get u buy the bs emissions test for 10 bucks regards Chris

It's an obvious transmission problem, If you throttle down and it Does NOT move that's the problem

You will need to have the computer scanned to get the trouble codes.
You can try troubleshooting it the hard way without the codes, but its complicated.

how many miles on it? how often do you change the oil?

If your truck starts with a jump, you need a new battery. Your battery may show a full charge, but it may have a dead cell, or worse. Replace the battery and you should be alright. While you are at the Auto Parts store you should get the code scanned and report back what the code is.

Prime with fuel.. If starts bad fuel pump..

P0336 means Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance. Try replacing the crank sensor next.
