Try this... take off your ignition coil and test the resistance of the coil.. both cold and hot.. if your test goes to infinite all zeros.. you have what's commmonly called a hot coil... when it heats up it doesn't make contact internally right and doesn't allow power to flow.. no spark from coil.. no vrroom vrroom

Why does it switch off when it get hot and starts again after 20min when its cool?

That is a common crankshaft angle sensor trait just before it quits completely. Find your crank angle sensor (almost behind the crankshaft pulley) and when your engine gets hot & cuts out, pour cold water over the sensor to cool it down. If the engine then starts straight away the sensor is faulty.

1998 VW Golf Tdi idle problem, it starts fine wean cold but as soon is hot does start up to 1100 revs for about 2 minutes.

sounds like a failing o2 sensor. or MAF sensor. but it could also be a blocked egr valve, its common on the tdi over time. sometimes don't even register as a fault on ecu codes.

I have a 1999 volvo s70 non-turbo 2.4 5 cyl. I bought it 1 year ago with 124k. It runs great, but the a/c cuts off when it gets over 90 degrees. At freeway speeds, it stays on (until it gets around 100...

There have been a lot of problems with the compressor cutting out when it gets hot. When the A/C begins to blow warm, check the power supply wire to the compressor. If there is power in the wire, you will most likely have to replace the compressor. If there is no power, you will have to trace it back to see what the problem is (a wiring diagram will help greatly).

Hard to start after shutting off

The starter operates great when cold. When the engine gets to its normal operrating tempreture the starter gets hot. An old starter will have an expanded armature from this causing the starter to drag or just freeze up hot . When its cool it will start again. This will eventuly get hot and the armature will go bad forever on you so get it changed soon

Car wont start after it gets warm

its due to what is called "vapor locking" the fuel in the lines top of engine gets hot and turns to vapor. the fix can be a new fuel pump if you have low pressure or just a pressure regulator.
hope this helps
