Did you jam the Shift Lever for the Transfer Case?

Before you let someone convice you into a rebuild or new transmission, take a look at a couple of items first as they are more than likely responsible for your problems. My 02 LSV6 (5R55N is the transmission in this car) started doing this on Friday with 130001 miles on it. The likely problem is a $5 spring called a 4-3 prestroke spring (https://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=400-056947JS1), or something like that has broken inside the valve body. The other likely problem is the solenoid block has failed. This part ranges from $185 (http://transpartsdirect.com/5r55n-solenoid-block-xw4z-7g391-p-17134.html?osCsid=1iilts53clk6t54j8cp3nq09l6) to $250-$350 (multiple source, including Ford). You don't have to drop the transmission to replace them and it looks like it takes 3-6 hrs to do the work.

Checking automatic transmission fluid

The 5R55N transmission does not have a transmission fluid dipstick.

Refer to your scheduled maintenance guide for scheduled intervals for

fluid checks and changes. Your transmission does not consume fluid.

However, the fluid level should be checked if the transmission is not

working properly, i.e., if the transmission slips or shifts slowly or if you

notice some sign of fluid leakage.

Transmission fluid should be checked and, if required, fluid
should be added by a qualified technician.

the heater core is located behind your dashboard on the fire wall. you will have to remove the dashboard and components blocking you from getting to the heater core it is a very aggravating job but can be done with patience and will save you alot of money to do it your self

What is the problem? What does the veh do,or not do?

The Lincoin Town car trans. shifts fine till overdrive then it's like putting it in nentrul

it's on the driver side, either in the engine compartment or in between the inner fender liner and the fender.
