Do you know if the car has been rewired, because they weren't coming on at all? no it is not normal for an electric fan to be running from start to finish. they are usually temp. controlled to come on when needed. one fan usually comes on with your a/c and the other for cooling engine purposes.

My car is overheating... I have replaced hose outlet, cap, Thermostat, fan, fan relays, radiator, and the problem is still there... any clue?

Although I have no heard of this happening on your particular car, there is one thing.
When the car is warm, have someone who is extremely careful feel the lower radiator hose whilst the motor is running.
Some cars will have a tired and soft lower radiator hose that will suck together when the engine is revved.
This normally does not happen whilst the car is in the driveway, you actually have to have it running down the street, so it would not normally be noticeable just by revving the engine .
God bless your efforts.

My 02 Camry v6' battery was removed for 30 min and put back on - good battery. Engine starts no problem but stalls at idle. No error code. Is a computer-code reload or IAC cleaning ? Seems the car computer...

idle learn procedure:

turn off all electrical items (AC fan, audio, lights, defogger, etc.)
Start the engine and hold it at 3,000 rpm with no load (in park or Neutral) until the radiator fan comes on or the engine coolant gauge shows normal running temp.

Now let the engine idle for a minimum of 5 mins with no electrical loads. If the radiator fan cycles on during this time, you must add the fan running time to the 5 mins.

No heat, cooling fan seems to run long after car is shut off. 2003 Jag X Type

Bad thermostat, the cooling fan relay is doing its job perfectly: it's turning the fans on at the engne control module's request, since your engine is running too hot.

Same thing happen on one 2004 X-Type. They found out that it is the antfreeze, not have enough antifreeze, because it was leaking from the pipes that lead to the radiator. The clamps on the car are not very strong, and can loosen. Check for those pipes. I bought some nice clamps that have a screw on it so you can screw it as tight as you need.

Basicly check the coolant level before you replace any thermostats or sensors, if the level is okay I'll go with a thermostat.

Keep us updated.

The radiator cooling fans run continuously in my 1998 Toyota Corolla. Would this be the result of a failed thermostat, fan relay or something else?

Fan switch should be located in the upper radiator tank. Two wires to it. it works off the temp of the water.

What would cause my 2002 zx2 to overheat ?

Faulty thermostat, failed water pump, inoperable radiator fan, low coolant due to leak, faulty radiator cap, leaking head gasket, low oil, major exhaust leak near front, exhaust blockage, or incorrect ignition timing. If there is crust around radiator cap, cap is leaking. How long does it take to overheat? If it runs smoothly when cool, and all fluids are at correct levels, you can rule our head gasket, radiator cap, and ignition timing. If it overheats very quickly and fluids are correct, it is probably thermostat or water pump. If it seems to do better at higher speeds, it is probably radiator fan. You can check this by allowing vehicle to run in Park with hood open. Monitor engine temp on dash. When it is at or slightly above normal running temp, radiator fan should come on. Also note exhaust sound. If it seems loud and overheats gradually, you may have a leak before the converter. If the exhaust sounds quiet, but exhaust manifold is getting extremely hot (may glow red), there is probably a blockage. There will also be OK starting and idle but poor acceleration if exhaust is partly blocked.

1996 Honda Accord fan contiunes to ran after the car is shut off

YOUR ENGINE IS RUNNING HOT.IF FAN KEEP RUNNING WHEN ENGINE IS OFF.CHECK COOLANT MAKE SURE ITS NOT LOW. REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT AND RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP.YOUR RADIATOR CORE COULD BE BLOCKED AND THE RESTRICTED GRILLE FULL OF BEBRIS AND THE.ENGINE BLOCK COOLANT PASSAGES COULD BE BLOCKED OR IGNITION TIMING COULD BE OFF.ALL THESE PROBLEMS CAN CAUSE YOUR ENGINE TO OVER HEAT.

Overheating after 5 miles of driving. Fan not running

If she paid someone to replace her radiator she should take it back. There are temperature relays around the fan I believe and the fans are not working. These are right in the area of the radiator. Someone must have disconnected the fan or the relays were failing before the radiator was working. Either way, the car is not cooling and she sought a solution to that problem. She was charged and the problem is worse. Go back to the radiator place.
