So, my 2001 kia is doing the same thing. I bought it over 2 years ago and have has it looked at by 20 or so mechanics who have all found nothing wrong with it. So as of right now it's sitting in my driveway as of a year ago because it's unsellable.Any advice? Have you found the problem?

Run fault codes and look for a faulty TCM unit. THE TCM will also put on the engine light and affect the speedometer operation . Running the fault codes will also identify the sensor associated with the ABS unit.. Seeing as to how you have just bought the car (possibly from a corner used car dealer) I would advise a pressure test done on the transmission to check for the condition of the transmission and have an oil change and the bands and clutch packs adjusted
There has been a rash of 60% Ethanol gas in my area lately which has caused the same problems. Gas should only contain 10% Ethanol max. You may want to run it out of gas or drain the tank. May also be a dirty fuel filter.
