Does the vehicle idle fine? At an idle in park with no load (no a/c defrost ect...) does the RPM vary at all? If not then its not an engine performance issue.

My 1996 chevy blazer has a hard time shifting out of first. It's a the 4x4, it has to reaaly rev about to finally slip into 2nd. It is an automatic. Waht could be causing that?

I don't know about a 1996 modle, but older chevys had a vacume modulator right side of transmission ,above pan some where between frount corner, and middle of transmission.
if the vacume line came of motor would rev extreamly high before a shift,(if it ever did)
my 1988 GMC with 700R4 trans does't use the modulator valve. yours may not either, but it's worth a look.
I hope this is helpfull

High idle o n a 1996 chrysler concorde. have change the tps and the idle air control valve. i think its a vacum line but i dont know which one. which one s effect the idle

High idle is usually caused by a vacume leak. First place to check is the cold air intake manifold. All hoses, throttle body, and sensors. Throttle Position(TPS), Mass Airflow(MAS), Idle Air Control Motor (valve) IAC. Controls Idle speed

A malfunctioning throttle system can cause both a high idle as well as an engine stall.

A dirty air intake or cracked air intake tube is often the culprit.

Have vacume hoses loose on top of motor in a 1989 F-150 5.0L cant see where they go looken 4 a vacume hose diagram to fix the problum

I'd suggest you go to www.autozone.com and register there, (it's free). Once registered you'll have access to dozens of vehicle repair manuals many having diagrams.

NOTE: I'm not affiliated with autozone, but have registered there and find it useful.

Engine seems to have power surges at all rpms and idles a little rough

Sounds like the EGR valve, but may be fuel filter has water in it, I would change fuel fiter if that dont help go to the egr or vacume hoses around the egr.

I have an 1996 ford explorer 4x4 limited with arc, my a/c heater will only cool on max or auto, it blows heat at all other setting and the fan will only blow on high. what could be the problem

check for broken vacume hoses near the canister that stores vacum? it also could be something in the blend door mode of the control switch but you need a scanner to check that. go to your local mechanic and see if he can give you a quick fix tell him you dont want too spend more than $50 to diagnosis it bet you he finds the problem goodluck
