Question about 1995 Pontiac Sunfire

1 Answer

Car Stuters ok my car stuters at 50 mph or faster only for a min. or two then the engine light turns on then it stops stutering the car runs fine after that. I replaced the plugs and wires on the car before i did that the car stuterd at 15 mph but did not stop so it makes me think its something to do with the Engine Electrical my guess its something to do with my MAP sensor i can check it with a volt meter but i need to go buy one i just wanted to see what you u guys recomend thanks.

Plymouth acclaim 1993 stuters while driving. Also, there is a whirring sound coming from engine

Check the air filter!
Make sure the noise is coming from the engine, not the trans (is the noise also appearing when you rev it up in Park?)!
Is it the 6 or 4 cylinder engine?
How old are the spark plugs and cables? Take the distributor cap off and check for the finger having a good contact. Maybe it's worn out?
Check the fuel and fuel line. Is the stuttering appearing since you refueled? Maybe you got bad fuel...
Last but not least exchange the fuel filter (or have it exchanged by a shop). Autozone.com has some pretty good how-to manuals about all this.

Hi i have a 98 honda accord lx and i wanted to know wether it was my trammy or the clutch because when ever i do a rolling stop or if i had jus finished backing up nd as soon as i put it in drive and press...

I had the same problem on a 1998. The computer controlled mixture at idle is not working right, and idle is dipping below 700 rpm. The culprit was a dirty throttle body intake. This tends to foul the plugs as well, after a few minutes of idling, so i would recommend changing the plugs after you have the system cleaned. The problem is intermittent because at high engine speed, say 3000 rpm, the plugs clear up and work normally.

The car runs well until it gets hot ,it begins to loose power, then is stuter, then shut off. the car makes a coughing -like sound when it shuts off

could be your crank angle sensor to test .turn car on then let it warn up till it cuts out then tip cold water or hose for a couple of mins on the crank angle sensor then stop water and turn car on . if it buggard it will start as when the crank angle senors breaks or is on its way out it will start then idle for a bit then splutter run **** then stall with the cold water it instantly makes it cold again so it will start straight away and repeat the same process of stallin when warm
