This problem could be several things.with the info you gave me .has the fuel filter ever been changed ? this filter should be changed 10, 20,000 miles. it will get blocked over time. then the next step would be check fuel pressure. most cases a GOOD part's store can give you this info. that is a start!

Fuel pump not working

Sometimes you can get to "revive" temporarily a bad pump beating you gas tank, might be enought to drive it to mechanical service to replace it and saves you a towing service.

My car doesnt start

Sometimes the battery will be good enought to run lights but will not turn car over. I would have battery put on a full charge and see if it holds up. if battery will not hold a full charge it is bad. If your car runs and the battery last a few hours then goes low again, It most likley is the alternator. put battery back on full charge and replace alt, and you are ready to run.

95 honda civic dx civic has good battery but still won't start sometimes its enought to start

If your car starts after you charge the battery overnight or with a jump start then the most likely problem is that your alternator is not charging the battery when the car is running. If you take it to an auto parts stores many of them will test your alternator (for free) to verify that is the problem.

If that isn't what is causing your problem you need to look for a short that is draining your battery and you would need a clamp on ampmeter to find that.

When i step on the gas pedel the car sometimes is jolty and shaky.

the engine could be missing the transmission can be low on fluild. The battery can be low on charge. the spark plugs can be inspected but if it;s been more than 50 thousand miles since they were changed and the car has more than 100 thousand miles a complete tune up is in order even if thats not whats wrong with it. The tune up parts can include the coils and the fuel injectors if the milage is high enought. This car is expensive to work on and hard to check if you don't work on hondas regularlly ( evevyday). You can save alot of money having a Honda aftermarket shop check your car and give an estimate. they cahrge for the estimate and it might run alot better just by them checking it. them get the repairs after your sure your car is'nt blown up or other (it's too old to spend that much money on) Blown heads and head gaskets can be fixed for alot of money but sometimes they'll smoke soon after the repars are made as the whole motor really needed to be rebuilt too.

Anytime I fill up my gas tank, my car won't start. I have used different gas stations. Filled my car up when its half full or a quarter fill. Normally I can get the car to start but slowly pressing on...

Tough one. Maybe water or sediment in the tank. I believe they something that you can put in your tank to adsorb water. At least that's easy enought to try. Good luck!

Car was parked and running and just killed on its own and will not start. does this sound like the fuel pump or maybe fuel filter?

If the battery is strong and charged, starter is fine, car ran okay while getting progressively worse until it died and won't restart now, might be fuel filter or pump. I've dealt with two cars with fuel filter issues. Both would idle fine, but run progessively worse under load and eventually die and not start although everything else checked out. Engine turned fast enought to start, battery strong, alternator fine, air cleaner clean, all that. No start. Changed fuel filters and done. Everything back to normal. Both cars were about model year 1990 (1989 and 1991). Replaced one in a parking lot and car fired right back up and powered on home just fine, whereas the week leading up to it it ran worse and worse, hesitated on acceleration and finally would die if you hit the gas. Fuel filter may be in engine compartment. Looks like a canister with an in and an out for fuel. Pump is in gas tank and is way more work and money. Good luck, hope this helps.
