Realize this is a month after the fact, but thought id throw this in for you an anyone else looking.

If its anything like the '05, what you have to do is move the shifter all the way to...gear 1 I believe (all the way back, with your park brake on obviously.) At which point you slide the little metal sleeve underneath the knob down, which will reveal a single allen screw, which is I believe a 3/32 inch.

07 Chevy cobalt ss/supercharged. Had issue shifting into second. Felt like it was pushing against me and would grind a little, but would go in. I checked online and found a simple solution. Adjust shifter...

You probably went to far with the adjustment. put it back wer it was and do it a tint bit at a time until you gain joy.

If it is so far out you cant, move the tranny position to far foreward, and the shifter, adjust the cable before you connect it, it should get you close

Removing shift knob 2002 hyundai accent

I don't know if you are asking a question or making a statement.
If you are asking how to remove the shifter nob on your vehicle then knowing if it is auto or manual would be nice. Without knowing that its hard to give advice if its manual then you pull a metal ringed sleeve down and remove three little screws which hold the shifter to the shaft. The nob will slide off after removal of the three screws. If you have a automatic transmission then removing that nob is a little more difficult.

After replacing a bad battery on my 05 Cobalt, the transmission won't change gears.

check your trany fluid, if automatic. if manual you may be looking at a new clutch. i cant imagine this has anything to do with the battery, just a coincidence.
