Did you ever resolve this? I have the same problem as stephentu621 with my 2001 Mazda Tribute V6 where occasionally I hear a clicking noise and then when I brake the ABS cuts in but most of the time everything is normal. I have taken it to my local garage but they can?t fond anything.

These vehicles have a recall on the ABS system for faulty wiring. You may want to check with your local dealer to see if your vehicle is included.

I have a 2001 mazda tribute 4 wheel drive. All of a sudden the abs light and brake light came on and I hear something running under the good even when the key is off. What could b wrong?

Sounds like the abs pump. Anytime a red light comes on you should not drive it. Check and see if that vehicle has ever had a recall on the abs/brake system.

2008 mazda tribute abs and all wheel problem when you start the vehicle all lights are out after computer check but drive 1 km abs lights and all wheel lights comes back on

That's telling us that the abs is passing the self check when you turn on the key. When th e light comes on after you start moving it usually means that a sensor is not sending a single or a signal is messed up. A scan tool will tell you wich wheel to focus on. It is fairly common for the exciter rings on the front drive axles to break and cause this code. It wouldn't hurt to inspect these for crackps or misalignment. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using!

My 2002 Tribute ABS Light & Break Light are both illuminated: break pads and rear drums were replaced march 2011: i know abs is tied in with the break system: what could this possibly mean for break...

if both lights are on together the car needs to be checked by a professional immediately.

it could be as simple as a loose connection after the work done in march, but both lights together could also mean a MAJOR fault in the ABS system that could result in loss of brakes.

an ABS system is not something that is servicable yourself.
it needs professional diagnostic equipment.

i can only recommend that you drive as little as possible, and get the car checked as soon as you can.

ABS light on in my 2005 Mazda Tribute. Just had an oil change and tire rotated. Also steam cleaned the engine yesterday. The brake fluid is low. I will try filling that.

You do not steam clean any engines from
1985 on, or you will have problems with water
intruding electical connectors & more

Brake fluid won't be low
As the pads wear & caliper piston moves out,
fluid level goes down, not an issue

The ABS light you should already know is a Vehicle
System Malfunction & we have had those or similar
lights on the dash of all vehilces for 30 years
So nothing new at all. Check for codes, diagnose &
have the ABS Braking System repaired
