Most coolant stop leaks will not work with anti-freeze at all, only clear water only. please read the label on the product and follow it to the letter.most stop leaks will not work under extreme conditions, such as a bad water pump or missing water pump belt,or bad thermostat. with common leaks along the radiator SEAMS they may help some. please seek a mechanic soon, you can damage your engine without proper coolant in it. which can lead to an engine replacement. where the steam is coming from is where your coolant leak is. it may only be a bad or faulty hose. a simple pressure tester rented from auto-zone or avanced automotive will reveal your leak.please follow the instructions with the rental equipment, and you will find the leak in the coolant system quickly. thank you for choosing fixya.com

That Bars leak is not a good idea. You also added a lot using two different leak bandages. It may have coated the temp sender and/or computer temp sensor so it now does not give a proper reading. Fowled the Thermostat. Plugged the small passages in the radiator.

The car may have been over heating and the computer detected that and shut it off.
Need to find and fix the leak properly, flush the cooling system real well and hope for the best.
You may also have an air pocket in the cooling system.

96 vw golf gti vr6 just replaced water pump everything was fine until today when it was idling heard a pop then steam started coming from defrost vents antifreeze on passenger side floor

More than likely heater core leak, I assume you are losing coolant. I've changed a couple heater core in my life but nothing like changing the one in the video. I saw 3 videos, and all said you have to pull the dash.

What kind of power stering fluild can i use in a 99 vw gti vr6

No

For Asian & Euro Vehicles your best to get the P/S Fluid
from a dealer

No fluids are consumed at all

There should be no need to top off

If so you have a leak to repair

Trans & Power steering fluid should be changed
every 3 years & not over 30 to 40,000 miles ,ALL VEH

2001 VW GTI VR6 alarm goes off randomly... make it stop

could possibly be a faulty latch. door latch, trunk latch, hood latch. something sporadically not recognizing a closed latch to cause it to go off sporadically. a scan with a vw scan tool or a vag com should detect a fault in the convenience system.
