Electrical Question for '88 S-10

I have an 88 S 10. The positive cables coming from the battery go to the starter and the alternator(generator). The starter is connected correctly, but I was wondering if anyone could tell/show me whats inbetween the battery and the alternator. I have a wiring diagram, but I need more of a wiring map showing exactly how it comes from the battery to the alternator and all of the steps inbetween. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot

In my 88 s-10, it goes directly from the battery to the post on the back of the alt.

SOURCE: 88 s10 wiring problem

if you have a 4.3 liter the wire from the positive post on the battery should go to starter and to the post with 10mm nut on the back of the alternator with a 2nd wire that goes to your ignition coil. ignition coil wire should have a fusible link in the line.

1998 ford escort altinator two bolt or three bolt? engine light is on brand new battery and the battery light is on . car just died when driving waited 7mins and it started .is it the altinator

check with volt meter. 12 volts with engine off. Should be 14 volts with engine running if alternator is working.
First, clean battery posts and cable ends. Then check owner manual for fuse locations and blown fuses. There is a large 100 amp fuse in box under hood.

Is the battery lamp lit on the dash?

Looks like 3 bolts. please rate when done
