I can't find the thermostat either. Is it on the drivers side just above the transmission where the top radiator hose is fasten to?

Yep...i spent the whole day looking for it. usually its there if you follow the upper the radiator hose, nothing there. they say to follow the lower rad hose, i think you gotta take out pwr steer pump and bracke then you might see. but dude...dont put the stat in that oblong hole at the end of the upper rad. hose, it doesnt fit there.

The thermostat is located on the bottom of the water pump on the front of the engine. The lower radiator hose connects to it. You must remove the lower radiator hose. Then remove the slide clip from the plastic tube on the thermostat housing. Remove that plastic tube. Now remove the side cover in the passenger side wheel well. Then remove the 5 bolts holding the power steering pump on and then remove the power steering belt. Now swing the power steering pump to the side. you will now be able to access the two 8mm bolts holding the thermostat in place. And there ya go. Be careful if you snap those 8mm bolts on the thermostat you are gonna have to replace the housing. And you don't want to remove the water pump to do that. Trust me. ; )

In volkswagon jetta, the thermostat contains two sides. one is flat side and the other is extended side. and the thermostat is located in such a way that the extended side goes in the engine block.

Where is the thermostat housing located

it's on the intake manifold on the top of the block. The thermostat on the 2.0 l ABA motor is located in a black plastic housing which resides on the UNDERSIDE of the motor, on the passenger side. It is normally hidden by the power steering pump, which must be moved out of the way in order to access the thermostat. Don't lose the o-ring!

Where is the thermostat located inside of a 1995 jetta engine

It is buried.
It is underneath the waterpump, and that is underneath the AC, alternator, power steering, etc.
It takes about 5 hours to do the thermostat.
Ultimately it is only held to the block by 2 bolts, and it is on the passenger side, front of the engine. You can see the pulley that drives the waterpump. But it is not easy getting to those 2 bolts.

Hello. The thermostat is located on the pass side of the engine down below right next to the lower rad hose. If you have a/c you will have to move the pump away. I just changed mine in my 1993 Jetta the other day. Good luck!

Where is the thermostat located between top

On 1998, 4.6 32 valve engines, the thermostat is located in the radiator to block hose. if you look directly under the power steering reservoir you should see it.

The thermostat has 3 hoses running from it. 2 are approx. 1.5" in dia. and one is approx .750" in dia. The .750" hose leads up to the coolant reservoir. and yes it is under the power steering reservoir. Access to the thermostat is from the bottom side. You will need an 8mm socket to remove the two bolts. Removal of the bottom radiator hose is mandatory.

Hope helps with this (remmeber rated this help).
