Here's what you need to do, Get someone you know who can help you fix cars even if minor, but drain the radiator and but first buy a drain kit and radiator cleaning solution from any auto parts store, after all thats cleaned replace fluid and start the car, that should help it ALOT!!!, when you go to the store to fill up on gas get fuel injection cleaner additive and put it in the tank before you fuel up, this should clean all the jets and fuel lines incase of a clog, if that kind of helps replace all the spark plugs and spark plug wires then your car should run good, Dont forget to change your oil regularly, and also might have to replace starter if nothing else helps

Try cleaning the throttle body and butterfly plate. If that doesnt work, replace the IAC (idle air control) motor.

When the car is cold the trans slips reall bad it wont move but if i let the car warm up for ten or fifteen it moves just fine any ideas its a 96 z24 cavalier

There could be a number of different problems here, the first thing I would check or get checked is the transmission oil levels, most auto-matic trans have a bilt in safety, when the oil is low it will not engage or drive..

Burning smell, check engine light-misfire, rough idle 96 cavalier

Sounds like there is a blown piston, to be sure have a compression test done on that #2 cylinder, if the reading is low, then you'll know.
A friend of mine had a 95 that did simular things only a little more,
it started smoking, dash lights flickered, etc. Finally, he had to get rid of it, the piston rod went through the engine block.

Where is the erls fuse on my 96 chevy cavalier and does that control my 2-3 shift solenoid?

The ERLS fuse does power the solenoid, and the computer grounds it, making it work. Its located in the fuse box. which is on the left end of the dash board.

I have a 96 cavalier and its transmission in stuck in reverse I cant start the car and I am out of town what can i do to get home

check the top of trany, have someone move shifter through gears if arm on trany doesnt move then cable might have broke, if thats the case then use your hand move to park have someone start car with foot on the brake always holding brake now shift into drive this way you can get home,CAUTION MAKE SURE THEY HOLD BRAKE WHILE YOU SELECT DRIVE OR CAR WILL TAKE OFF, you must have in park to start car, good luck.
