I`m guessing that you have tried to install the nozzle in different places in the filler neck while filling the car.if this you have tried then you may have a bad vent valve that is not working properly causing excess air pressure in the fuel tank shutting off the nozzle.have a shop check this out for you.

Have you tried another station or a different pump?
Does the pump nozzle have the the type of seal that fits tight against the filler neck? That seal has to be compressed so far for the pump to work properly. try to push the nozzle in further or pull back on the seal by hand to open it up. Could also be vapor pressure and pulling back by hand or fitting the nozzle in the tank where that seal leaves a small open to the filler neck will vent the vapor.

I,m having trouble filling my gas tank. The pump keeps shutting off.

The vent on the tank is restricted and the pump nozzle can't take all the air coming from the tank as it fills. Many gas stations across the country have vapor recovery nozzles designed to capture air from your fuel tank and vent it back into the tank under ground, and out the roof vent pipe on top of the building. It's for fuel vapor emissions reduction. Until you put a few gallons in the tank, pull the boot back a little with your fingers to unseat it from the filler neck, then let go and you should be o.k. If it keeps shuting off after that, then you may have a problem with your own vapor recovery system not working properly. Check other nozzles and see if they all are that way. Mabe it's the station.

Having problem with trying to gas up the elantra. gas pump handle keeps clicking off. have to squeeze handle real lightly to fill up tank takes a long time to fill up. help

I know you probably won't like my answer, but seeing as I am a service tech for gas stations, the nozzle has a safety feature which shuts/kicks off when gas splashes back into the nozzle, thus keeping the gas from running over when the car is unattended and nozzle is locked. You can try pulling the nozzle back til it is barely in the tank or try a different gas station as some nozzles are different. As it is the shape of the fill tube on your vehicle. Hope this helped Tim

Can't get gas into my 2002 Hyundai Accent.

The reason the gas station pump shuts off is when the fuel reaches the tip of the gas nozzle, so when you are filling your car and the gas nozzle (gas stations pipe) keeps shutting off it means that the pipe that runs to the gas tank is not open completely, what happens is when you pump the gas in the car the supply pipe from the gas tank opening to the tank fills up quickly and this causes the gas station pipe nozzle to shut off, have some body take down the gas tank and have a look at the gas tank opening and also gas supply pipe that runs from the gas filler opening ( on the car body) to the gas tank. Have a look at it and please don't forget to rate the answer if it was helpful, thanks!

Every time I fill up my 2001 Hyundai Elantra at every station I've been to the pump will constantly cut off during fill-up. I've tried pulling the nozzle further out of the gas tank and pushed it in as far...

When a gas pump does this it is because there is alot of pressure in the gas tank. This is a good thing for you because it means all your seals in the fule system are working good.Next time you fill up open you fule cap and let the car vent for a little bit then try to fill.

2004 hyundai accent. trouble filling gas tank

I have a 2005 Hyundai Accent, It is not possible to fill the tank if you are letting the petrol pump run at full speed.Trying to fill up quickly it will only build up pressure and cut off. Next time you fill up just pull the petrol pump handle half way, it will take longer to fill but you wont get the blow back. Modern petrol pumps are getting quicker all the time.Hope this helps you.
