usually a sudden stop is sensor gone out if it fuelor timing it would have erratic or skip tostart with i would put it on a diagnostic tester to be sure
The fuel sender is with the pump module assy. You say the fuel pump is new, did you replace the fuel module or just the pump? is this a new problem after you replaced it or was it there before? Never replace just the pump.
I would have a close look at the fuel pump. These are one of the weaker links in the vehicle.Key On -Engine off will run this intank electric pump for 3 seconds. This gives you an opportunity to listen for the pump and how it sounds overall(in a quiet place ,like a closed garage)...Sometimes a failing pump sounds a bit squeelish and loud, somewhat labored.A good working ,fresh pump sounds very smooth and quiet.Fuel pressure diagnostics might be in order as these pumps seem to work about like they sound....good luck
even though parts are new they also come with defects so it sounds as if when you turn the key you hear it working and other times not at all hmmm connections are tight ? could be faulty fuel pump or relay .
The fuel sending unit only controls the gas guage not the fuel supply to the vehicle. The pump is twelve volts. If you are not getting twelve volts on the PUMP wires check the fuel pump relay and the key circuit to it. If you have to cycle the key three to four times rapidly to get the vehicle to start check the fuel pump pressure at the regulator for manufacturer specs. An injector stuck open will also cause same problems you are describing.
U MAY HAVE A DEFECTIVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMP (ECT) SENSOR, U NEED A SCAN TOOL TO TEST THIS PART, THIS IS NOT THE SENDER FOR THE TEMP GUAGE THIS IS THE SENSOR THAT TELLS THE FUEL INJECTION COMPUTER HOW COLD OR HOT THE ENGINE IS, IF IT READS LOW THE SYSTEM WILL GET TO MUCH FUEL AND CAUSE A HARD START, DO U NOTICE ANY BLACK SMOKE WHEN IT FINALLY STARTS?
Ok, Have you had the Timing Checked? Very well could be the Fuel Pump, PCV Valve, Distributor Cap or Wires and Plugs fouled out. Check and let me Know so we can narrow this down for Ya!
Im not sure if this can help, but my 2000 gmc sierra was idling badly. Replaced Fuel Pressure Regulator and my truck runs like its brand new. My service engine light was also on.
try running two new ground wires from your battery to your firewall and one more to your block you could have a pretty good short that is grounding out your ignition.
