the mas air flow sensor u need to put it on scanner not to check codes but see whats going on with all the sensors your fav garage if your a good customer it maybe be free if not no more then 20 bucks if u scan it u will b chasing your tail good luck

has to be air bound.with vehicle running but before it gets too hot remove outlet hose from heater core at bulkhead.wait for consistant waterflow out of hose then reinstall and top up system.now the bad ....where did the air come from?these engines are becoming notorious for head gasket failure.does it ever miss and run rough for fist few seconnds after a cold start?if so this is probably your issue.

you do not need to calibrate this senor, simlpy unscrew it then unplug it, and install new one. becareful not to break your connector you can cause electical damage.

you may havta replace the air flow meter module.

The mass air flow meter is your problem here.I would get it changed.You will find that you are useing a lot of gas due to the air flow meter being bad.

Two possible problems

1 - O2 Sensor

2 - Mass air flow sensor(Most common problem on Sentra's)

Spend a 100 buck and have a nissan dealer check it out for you as they would have the tools to check the sensors correctly

You need a new MAF (mass air flow sensor or air flow meter as its called). and you will also need a new air filter, since you most likely used aftermarket one and that's what killed that MAF sensor/meter. Aftermarket air filters dont sit right in the box and are not oil soaked, which helps to catch any debris and dirt coming into your engine. Replace you air filter with Nissan filter and install a new MAF/air flow meter. If your air box is dirty, clean that out too. MAF sensor will run you about $500 and the air filter about $17. Common problem on a Sentra if you are not using Nissan air filter.

Get a Chiltons/Haynes manual for your make/model/year and go to the troubleshooting section. It sounds like the same thing my little rabbit did years ago. Turns out it needed new fuel filters and the fuel tank flushed. The gunk kept impeding fuel flow. Didn't do good things for the fuel pump either.
