Question about 1993 Acura Integra Hatchback
My 94 integra just started making a wierd noise comming from the front end. When I take off from a stop it makes a consistant high chirp or flutter sound. If I take off slowly you can't hear it, but the more gas I give the louder it gets. I know that both of the boots on the CV joints are cracked. Could this sound be coming from the axle or could it be somehting else like my clutch or throw out bearing?
Without hearing noises first hand it is very hard to diagnose.
Things to check from the description you gave:
- Thow-out bearings will make noise depending on the clutch pedal being engaged/disengaged. The noise will come and go as you move the pedal in or release it.
I would rule out the CV joints if the noise happens while moving straight. CV joints will click while turning when they go bad.
