Electrical problem 2004 KIA Amanti

Battery was run down and will not seem to take a charge. Can jump start and it runs fine. On the digital screen in the middle of the dash (clock, radio, mileage, ect.) where the radio station used to show, it now reads: NO CON.

Warranty is up (70,000 miles) and I hope it is just a bad battery. Is there any way to tell? Battery warning light works but does not come on when running.

Nearest KIA dealer is two hours away. I would appreciate any advice and thank you in advance.

Do you have an aftermarket radioin your car? your radio and the car display unit have to be reprogrammed if you changed your battery.

Why will car not start from key? Just turns over until battery drained, seems too sluggish to start

Has the fuel pressure been tested? Are you sure the ignition starter switch is ok and doesn't have an open that causes a stall out when the key is released. We do not have the diesel engine in this country so repair info is limited. You need to stop guessing and consult an expert, you have replaced parts that I would never replace for this kind of issue, a total waste of money and your time.

My Charging Warning System and Immobilizer indicator warning light is both on after my 2004 Kia Amanti is running and put in drive.

Was the battery unhooked recently, Alternator or battery could be faulty, you can check them with a digital meter. The Immobilizer light may go away after you adress the battry/charging fault.

I changed my thermostat but that radiator symbol still comes on for my 2004 kia Amanti. When you replace the antifreeze do have to prime it someway brcause it doesn't seem to flow like it should.

I've dealt with this vapor-lock issue in multiple ways. One was to put an aspirin in the thermostat to hold it open. When disolved it would work properly. But want it open for a bit so that coolant can flow.
The other was to squeeze the radiator hoses to push coolant and work air into radiator so it could come to top of radiator. Another is to simply run it till warms up, shut it down and ad coolant to the reservoir.

2004 kia amanti my battery light is on and a car with key symbol is on new battery sometimes car starts sometimes does not and i have to charge it to get it going

I don't have much experience with Kia but typically a key light is an immobilizer problem. If the key light is intermittant and coincides with the non start, that is probably it.

Battery wont charge, battery/ABS/SRS/BRAKE lights come on while driving and flicker. voltage increases to dash lights/fan speed/headlights periodically.

Get a volt meter, start your car and see how many volts your car is producing while running. Should be around 14 volts. May want to watch the meter for a while since your electric seems to fluctuate. Most voltage regulators are internal of your alternator. If you are getting a lot more or less than 14 volts while running, replace the alternator. If it is not charging, voltage will drop as vehicle runs, until battery is dead.

My Honda Accord wont start even with a jump. The lights come on but wont turn over. No click, no sound, no nothing

IT's those short drives that burn down a battery! The starting of an engine requires mucho electric to get it running. The alternator then charges the battery, but slowly! If you also have the lights and stereo on it is even slower. Get the battery FULLY charged with a commercial battery charger. Then check to see if the alternator is charging up the battery after you start it. If not, replace the alternator. If the battery dies overnight or in a few days...replace the battery.

Head lights and rear lights out

only 2 reasons for battery dying. 1. bad battery. 2. bad alternator. batteries should never die unless your leaving things on such as light etc. even then after a jumpstart the alternator should charge it back up after a little while of running. Have your battery tested if it is good then it will most likely be ur alternator. Hope I could be of some help.

sound like might have a prooblem with the charging system. if the altenator is not charging the battery while driving then when the battery voltage gets too low (prob around 10volts) then the computers will shut down, then when jump started it gets some power back, and when the battery is charged will all work fine for a while.
does your model have the voltage gauge in the dash? should be over 12 volts when engine running, 14volts is a good charge rate. and should stay up above 12 all the time, with lights on air condon etc...
and altenators can be funny, work sometimes, and not atother times,

That's a lot of alternators and batteries. Are the alternators you replace it with lifetime warranted? Also, what's the cca of the battery and the warranty of the batteries replaced in it?
